Residents of states like RIVERS, SOKOTO etc whose governors have previously served in the House of Assembly or Representative should not think they have gentlemen as governors. cheesy cheesy

In case they don't know, these governors are experienced in Free-For-All-Fight, Brawling, Street Fighting, Fence Jumping, Gidigbo and Dambe (laced with armlets). If I am lying, ask Rivers State House of Assembly or Fed House of Rep. grin grin

Show of leadership will be to deliver on his constitutional responsibilities to the people of Sokoto state by:

- ensuring ALL the children go to school FREE.
- TAP water in all households, clinics, schools, religious places, business premises etc.
- adequately number of clinics and hospitals that are well equipped and staffed appropriately.
- etc, etc.

Or is that not the performance yardstick to use huh

Do you think that in Canada, US and UK where many Nigerians including Buhari's daughter are hiding the citizens rate leadership show of their governors because he "dealt with a driver braking the law"?
Or we should just assume that we are so stewpid and wish to REMAIN so! angry

You are so mediocre. Those are basic neccesities for survival, we are talking about propelling massive development through the efficient harnessing of the state's many resources in agriculture, leather, limestone, non-wood forest products (NWFP) like neem, Gum Arabic e.t.c. to mention a few. Its a pity years of misrule by the mishap called the PDP has reduced your expectations to spartan levels.

You must be a joker thinking you can intimidate anyone with your big sounding empty words!

- What is the % of children that are OUT of school in Sokoto state?
- What is the % of TAP water coverage in the state?
- What is the ratio of doctors/nurses to residents in the state?
- What is the ratio of teachers to students/pupils in the state?

just to mention a few of the "basic provisions for survival" that your governor should attend to instead of pulling useless stunts for photo-ops!

Increasing Access to Education in Northern Nigeria
April 16th 2013

Forty-two percent of primary-age children in this country, about 10.5 million, are out of school. Less than a third of primary school children proceed to junior secondary school and even fewer go on to complete secondary school.

The situation is worse in predominantly Muslim Northern Nigeria where primary school attendance and academic achievement are far below national averages. A recent USAID-funded assessment of reading skills in Hausa, the local language, in the Northern States of Bauchi and Sokoto found that about 70 percent of P3 (third grade) pupils could not read a single word of a simple narrative text.

In this region many students attend non-formal religious schools where the focus is on learning the Quran and Islamic values with no training in basic reading and math skills. In some schools male children (referred to as “Almajiri”) often leave very poor families to attend school and are encouraged to beg on the streets to pay for their care and instruction.

Suddenly he is obeying traffic rules. I had an experience on 21st April 2015 with Tambuwal's convoy at the big maitama roundabout near the NEPA office and I can assure yu he doesn't obey ANY traffic rules even while approaching a roundabout. We see how long this will last.

WHO to immunize 240,000 children against polio in Sokoto

Sokoto, April 29, 2015
( NAN) The Wolrd Health Organization (WHO) says it will immunize 240,000 children with the Injactible Polio Vaccine (IPV) in three local government areas of Sokoto State.

The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that this was disclosed in Sokoto on Wednesday by Dr Ana Chevez, the Supplemental Immunization Activities Officer, WHO Nigeria Office, in Abuja.

He said that the children would be immunised in Sokoto North, Sokoto South and Wamakko Local Governments areas between May 2 and May 6, 2015.

Chevez spoke at a one-day round- table discussion with members of Journalists Against Polio (JAP) in the state on the forthcoming exercise.

She said that the exercise was part of efforts to totally eradicate polio in Nigeria.

According to her, no fewer than 411 health camps, each with ten health personnel, community leaders and Hisbah officials, would be opened across the three local government areas during the exercise.

At various times, Tambuwal has been a member of several committees including the House Committees on Rules & Business, Communications, Judiciary, Inter-Parliamentary and Water Resources. He was also a member of the House Ad hoc Committee on Constitution Review.

He was chairman of the ad hoc committee that reviewed the report of the controversial power probe committee headed by Ndudi Elumelu; chairman, House Sub-Committee on the Bill for an Act to Amend the Land Use Act, and acting chairman, House Committee on Power.

He was leader of the Nigerian delegation to African,Caribbean, Pacific & European Union Parliamentary Assembly (ACP-EU) and served as Vice-Chairman, Economic Committee ACP-EU, held in Prague,Czech Republic in April 2009.
