I want to draw Nigerians attention to the fact that conceding defeat is not new to our political climate. Governors have lost and conceded defeat in the past without anybody raising an eyebrow or celebrating them. The question that comes to mind is that what would have happened if ex-president Jonathan had not conceded defeat? Could he have held unto power forcefully(I still don't understand how he could have done that). The only way "only way" was for him to head to the tribunal and if the case was not settled before hand over date he would still be compelled to hand over pending when it would be completed. If we then insist on celebrating Ex-president Jonathan we must also celebrate Governors Ahmed Lawal (kwara 99-2003), Adebayo(99-2003), Adebisi(Osun 99-2003), Osoba(Ogun 99-03), Lam Adeshina, Otunba Alao Akala (Oyo99-03 & 2007-2011), Adefarati (Ondo99-03), Ohakim(imo 2007-2011) the list is endless. Even though they went to the tribunal to contest their defeat, they all handed over power to the opposition party. Nigerians stop celebrating mediocrity. Ex-president Jonathan maybe a hero for any other thing but certainly not for conceding defeat |

@Topic: I agree! Jonathan did the right thing for probably once in his life by conceding the election he manifestly lost and the confused man wants a NOBEL PEACE PRIZE. Someone should please wake this man up and let him know that: 1. It is considered normal to concede an election you have lost except in backward Africa, where thieves and heartless leaders try to hang on to power at all costs. 2. Sure by conceding the election he has spared Nigeria from going into turmoil and violence. But he acted in his own best interest too. It is unlikely that he would have escaped the ensuing violence if he had not conceded; therefore, Jonathan has only done himself a priceless favor systematically...Didn't he see the soldiers dancing after Buhari won? Lately all his ridiculous comments make it sound like he is having second thoughts. The man has completely debased the office of the president, and for this, I say: Big SHAME to those of us that wanted this utmost absurdity for another 4 years. |

Weather you like it or not; he is a hero, Inec brought the idea of electronic voting; and on election day it was changed to manual; That is a reasonable proof for Jonathan to reject the election; Do you even know what you are saying? Gej is all time Africa hero and he will win the noble prize award weda U like it or not |

4stylz:He should then share the award with every politician that has conceded defeat and handed over power to the opposition. Hope this helps you sleep at night. |
