Well below is what I know..........

The enrollment process for acquiring your BVN is
simple.
. Visit any branch of the bank you have an account with.
Registration by proxy not acceptable.
. Collect and fill the BVN enrollment form with all
personal data about you.
. Submit the completed form to a designated official at
your bank, who would then transfer the information
given into a computer data base.
. The official will take your photograph and finger prints.
. You will sign your signature that will be captured
electronically into the data system.
. A small temporary registration acknowledgement slip
will be issued to you, followed by an email or SMS
conveying a similar information.
. A BVN identification card with a computer chip bearing
your embedded personal information will be issued to
you for collection at your designated bank branch.
. BVN registration exercise is mandatory for all individual
customers.
. Registration must be completed on or before June 30,
2015.
. After deadline, you may not be able to do any financial
transaction in any bank in the Nigerian banking system
as you will require your fingerprint for authentication.
. BVN registration is for individual account holders for the
meantime till further notice.
. Registration in one bank covers all accounts the
individual might have in all other banks.

It mean, if u are using thousands of bank account, with BVN it means u are still have single account.
Even if the thousands of account is understand different name.

It help to trace fraud

Can you educate us further on the fraud aspect pls or CBN is just amplifying that to justify a bad policy?

How is that so? In my opinion, its very draconian and should be revisited. It will likely lead to loss of customers by Banks if its carried out to the letter e.g, why do i need more than 1 account when i can only withdraw a limit of $300 a day per BVN. That means all the =N= Master & Visa cards that i have for my Savings and Current accounts are useless for that day as i am only entitled to use 1 per day, so whats the use of maintaining accounts with several other banks even though i can use them on PoS

I assume this is just monetary policy in action measured out to check inflation resulting from past and perhaps anticipated currency devaluation. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the BVN in principle.

Have seen Dangote,, Atiku, ifeanyi uba doing BVN?

They bank by appointment and are likely to do theirs 'after hours' or 'out of location'. This move may also check Nigerians living illegally abroad but operating black accounts here in Nigeria. You will have to come out of hiding, return to Naija then face the long trek back abroad.

All I know about bvn ?
If u like ur life don't steal,don't defraud people because bvn will be used to frozen all ur accounts u have if u enter wahala with efcc and ipcp, if u have four different accounts in four different banks ,bvn will help trace those accounts and it will be frozen until the court clears u

IT IS ALSO USE TO VERIFY YOUR DATA, COS I WENT TO THE BANK TO CASH A CHEQUE AND I WAS ASKED FOR MY BVN NO INSTEAD OF MY I.D.CARD

What happens after 30 June when CBN must have shot down the process? Does it mean that if I had not registered my account will be shot down? Will it be a continue process for the benefit of new customer?

Why attach deadline when people will have to open new account after the said deadline?

What happens to some of our broke citizens hustling in others countries, will their funds be frozen after the deadline?

I did not read what happens after deadline on the FAQ pages.

Do you even know the main purpose of BVN? Its to keep track of people! Simple! Our National ids aren't nt yet complex enough if not we won't be needing BVN, if the government could properly track you down through your national I'd card, do U think they'll need BVN, pls wake up!

How would they get it if you didn't supply it to them?
You have to visit each of the banks where you have an account for the linking.

You have to take the bvn to your other banks to link all your accounts.

The acct(account) mandate is ur account profile with the bank.

It definitely contains ur name, demography, photo and signature.
