I was about to sleep when I heard a large explosion...and I heard pple shouting. I looked outside my window and saw flames about 500 meters from my house.


Thick black smoke everywhere. Pple are abandoning their homes.

My bus stop is actually called Pipeline bus stop, cos pipelines run underneath from there straight to NNPC, Ejigbo.


The fire is out now, but I still don't know the cause. I heard two distinctive explosions before people started screaming/shouting. I actually thought it was the night Virgil people that were praying, before I started hearing fast footsteps. People have returned to their homes now. I will find out what really happened tomorrow. From where I was, I could see the flames, and my heart was beating so fast. I swear, for a second there, I thought our whole area was going to burn down. The fire was like the size of a football field.

I hear sirens...fire service is here. It took them approximately 28 minutes to get here. Well, not so bad sha.
