Today makes it exactly one year since Prof. Dora Akunyili died. She died in an India hospital on 7 June 2014 after a battle with Cancer.

Prof. Akunyili will always be remebered for her role she played in fighting fake drugs in Nigeria during her time as the Director General National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). She also served the country as a Minister of Communications and Information.

We will always remember you Dora.....May your soul continue to rest in peace Amen.

Rest on ma'am , you were a legend and a hero , the legacy you left behind will not be easily forgotten .

Rest in Peace, Mrs Dora.

Madam Dora, seems just like yesterday that you left us. Your courage, zeal and honesty in the fight against counterfeit drugs saved millions of innocent lives. You did not relent even when you had to step on toes of your kinsmen.
You were a mother, a mentor, a leader, a sister, an angel and you were still a loving wife. It is because of you that I believe in the Nigerian educational system, that I can attain all my university degree here and still be relevant enough to become whoever I want to be.

No matter how much we love you, God loves you more. Continue to rest in His bossom. Posterity will always remember you for good.

To say I know this woman personally pains me more.

She once came to our town's end of the year party some years back in company of her daughter. When she talked about why we should do well in our respective fields and businesses, I felt the speech. She spoke with a confidence that made many called her "agava nwanyi".
