Only seven out of the 109 senators who will serve in the 8th National Assembly are women. Four of the female senators were elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while three are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The PDP senators-elect are Stella Oduah (Anambra North), Uche Ekwunife (Anambra Central), Rose Oko (Cross River North) and Fatimat Raji-Rasaki (Ekiti Central). Those elected on APC platform are Oluremi Tinubu (Lagos Central) and Binta Garba (Adamawa North) and Monsurat Jumoke Sunmonu (Oyo Central), who is the immediate past speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly.

One thing I love my state "Anambra" for, is that they give women chance more than other states.
Most Nigerian powerful women hail from Anambra.

But Stella Oduah? undecided

It seems like my people haven't learnt their lesson(s).

That's good. But we don't want to be numbering them alone, we want to see their impact. We had 8 last time but with less effect. Let them prove women can handle things well like men would do (I'm not part of women can do better team, I believe they can also do, leave better for divine) to pave way for more women in d legislative arm.

In another event, I'm so happy Tinubu team lose out. I hate the way he's trying to turn the whole southwest to his parlour, where he can do as he wishes.
