It might have been difficult to have 'new blood' when u have returning senators running for that position. Bukola is 'new blood' though, as far as Senate Presidency is concerned.

In a different clime, I would have thought so, but in Nigeria, what we are likely gonna end up with is endless undue bickering and blackmailing. For example, they might refuse to endorse the President's cabinet especially if they are composed of technocrats which is what the country needs at this point, and not loyal political associates of theirs. See what I mean? I am very apprehensive of these crop of people.

I get your point but by new blood, I meant someone we relatively haven't been hearing of before. Everybody knows Saraki. Ekweremadu was the one there before so what new thing are we to expect with a leadership like this, it's more like the same old poo again. Remember Saraki's hands are not even clean. I expected this senate to start on a clean note and I believe that was what the APC wanted to achieve by choosing Lawan. It's now clear Saraki is only after his own selfish interest which will not pay him in the long run. It's not every time you revolt when things don't go your way. It's a simple rule of maturity and wisdom. Well, let's see how things unfold in the coming days.

Only time will tell.

This is happening because APC has never been a political party. Different regions with different political objectives merged in APC with the objective of dethroning a president believed to be clueless.
So after dethroning the clueless president, the differences between the different groups in the APC merger start to emerge.
