PDP broke because Jonathan refused to quit after first term. Worse, Jonathan knew he was no longer keen on continuing as president, because according to him, it was like in a cage in govt house. But he refused to go. So PDP broke.

PDP is most likely to reconvene as before, because APC is a merger of strange bedfellows, while PDP has long established mode of partying in politics.

This is the beauty of politics.

Bukola Saraki has just robbed Nigerians of good governance again. Mind you, I'm not against him as a choice president of the senate, infact I supported his candidacy from the start and I was glad at the first news of learning he was elected.

However, he went the wrong way with the kind of politics he just played. My opinion is that, rather than focusing on (good) governance, both parties will now have to start playing (dirty) politics which has always been known as one of the greatest problems in Nigeria. God help Nigeria

It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for an elected President of Nigeria to be impeached. The constitution made it almost impossible.

Having said that, the PDP has every reason to rejoice. They aren't going to be relegated in the scheme of things as everyone thought. They have the #2 seat and most likely, Senate Leader (whatever that means; what I know of is majority leader and minority leader; haven't seen where a senator from the minority becomes a Senate majority leader unless the both positions were combined in one for David Mark's luxury).

The APC needs to brace up. Let this teach them a lesson; my people say he who dines with the devil uses a very-long spoon. They should be aware that the PDP has been in power for a long time now and knows how to bend and twist even when backed on the wall.

Meanwhile, interesting times are ahead. Let's see how the lower house will react.
