I see absolutely nothing wrong with what the APC did. They trued to develop a consensus within their members regarding who would emerge as senate president. What obtaned in the past was for the President to select his choice and tell his leuitenants and party members to make his choice "happen" with Ghana must go bags and other forms of bribery. But the overambitiousness of Saraki and Dagora will not end well for them both. Sarai is going down because of the corruption charges hanging on him. If he thinks the Senate Presidency will shield him from prosecution, he's joking. Buhari will even use him as a scape goat, the way Obasanjo used Tara Balogun and Sunday Afolabi as scape goats.
The APCs decision to follow a Clean and transparent system of selecting house leaders may have failed, but I doff my heart for their attempt to restore sanity to the process. No Ghana must go bags exchanged hands like before ( I can't say for the PDP senators).

Bukola Saraki has just robbed Nigerians of good governance again. Mind you, I'm not against him as a choice president of the senate, infact I supported his candidacy from the start and I was glad at the first news of learning he was elected.

However, he went the wrong way with the kind of politics he just played. My opinion is that, rather than focusing on (good) governance, both parties will now have to start playing (dirty) politics which has always been known as one of the greatest problems in Nigeria. God help Nigeria

Buhari is behind Saraki's victory. The last thing he and northerners would want his Tinubu calling the shot in the senate and the house. Same scenario will play out in the house. When fully implemented, Tinubu will be caged and Osinbajo chained. For some reason Yorubas are not understanding this. You are dragging politics with Hausa/Fulani Oligarchy...this is their livelihood! They haven't started with Tinubu yet!

I see Saraki decamping back to PDP and champion a strong opposition. An opposition that will work with Buhari to cut off Tinubu's clout and influence. In my judgment this will stabilize the polity.

The Senate 8th National Assembly is in for big time crisis the Senate have ever witnessed. Immediate past and past Governors with stolen state funds to throw away are seeing themselves as godfathers and are holding the Senate to a ransom with emergence of Saraki. They should note that the the National Assembly is different from various State Assemblies where Members almost served like their errant boys. To me dice is cast!
