They even called and apologize, the lady was like she was surprised also, for my mind i said are sure it's not because of cbn, they never knew i copied cbn, so in the mail they were just talking thrash, i got the mail here cpd@cbn.gov.ng

Some of all these government officials sleep in their offices because the masses refuse to bring their complaint to them believing that they would not resolve it. If you have any complaint, just take it to the right channel and they would thank you because it boost their records that they are working and not just receiving salary.

I think it's time we demand quality service from govt and service providers including financial institutions, in respect of my cancelled order on Paypal, UBA charged me 217+ per dollar, but refunding they refunded 198.5, i mailed them, they told me it's official rate, why didnt they use official rate in charging initially was what i asked' meanwhile during the periood the transaction was made, the exchange rate between the dollar and pounds didn't change (the transaction was quoted in pounds, but paypal charged me dollar and converted to pound). I copied CBN in the mails, just this morning i was credited with the normal charge of 217 and debited with the debious refund. Thanks to stanley08 this forum has really help some of us in knowing the sharp practices of these banks

Only stanbic is doing the right thing, u mustn't sell dollar above the official rate as a fanancial institution, let's now assume its paper currency, we can say maybe they couldn't get dollar from cbn so the used the rate where they bought, but this are virtual payments not physical cash meaning its always have the face value, except u are dealing with marchants who dnt use official rates. But paypal does, now u buy something of $100, banks send the 100 to paypal at the official exchange rate, and charge u higher

I even tried mailling CC, they helped me get the password, but to change my acc from limited access to full access is another wahala, they ask for ID card, i sent them my NYSC ID. Now they are telling me they need another ID card which is valid. NL i don tire for stanbic matter oo. Abeg any advice?

use ur national ID it takes one week to get it at any local government office or give them voters card

Corper WE! My fellow Otondo, they won't accept ur Otondo ID now, use National ID, International Passport, Voter's card or Driver's License.

I'm pretty sure they are aware, the reason why Stanbic has the lowest charge is that they are the only bank that doesn't charge commission on the dollar.

Ecobank for instance charges 2.5% and Diamond Bank now since last month reduced from 2.5% to 2%. So basically for every $100 in most banks, u are actually paying $102.5. You dig?

What CBN aren't aware of is charging you a different rate and refunding you at a different rate. Ecobank charge was always high but dey never refunded me lower than their prevailing dollar rate. I give them dat.

More than one person even mentioned something about the only Filling Station in my area paying off PHCN (up to 50K), so they can turn the lights off in order for them to make sales to those that want to use generators of course. THIS COUNTRY!

If it's StanbicIBTC, send customer care an email to ask for it. They'll ask a couple of questions to verify say na you actually get the account
