Aggrieved Senators of Nigeria's ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to sanction the clerk of the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasuwa for disenfranchising 51 senators from voting and also for disobeying a presidential directive to postpone the Senate inauguration by a few hours.

In a chat with parliamentary correspondents, the senators sympathetic to the Ahmad Lawan faction,vowed to upturn the election of Senate President, Bukola Saraki noting that Chapter 2 of the Standing Order of the senate as amended in Section 3(2)(k) under Presiding officers states that "all Senators-elect shall participate in the nomination and voting for President and Deputy President of the Senate".
