Pls read your bible in peace and do to it as you wish. Your christian life is between you and God. No one can and should tell you if highlighting in your bible is right or wrong. Is shading your textbook right or wrong?
It's not a matter of temperament. As for me, I don't deface my books, no matter what. My reason is, 'you may not be the only one to use it '. Imagine people do that to books in the library, it won't be funny by the time you get to use it.

It's a personal bible and to him, that might be "neat". As long as he can read it, it's okay.

It is only wrong to those who feel the bible as a book is a weapon against evil but in reality that book is just paper with words written on it. Gods purpose of documenting those words in a book is so the words can move from the book into our hearts. The letter killeth but the spirit giveth life (2nd Corinthians 3 verse 6. You are meant to LIVE the word and not read it alone. THE WORD MUST BE MADE FLESH IN YOU. The bible is an ordinary book with extraordinary contents meant to be lived and not something you pull out when you have a challenge and you start looking for the scripture to use against that situation. Those who do that are not yet ready to LIVE THE WORD!

Books are supposed to be personalized, loved and interacted with-- that includes colouring, underlining, ear marking, and even writing on the margins.

The Bible is no different.

Neither did I say it's wrong to deface your own book. Maybe you skipped that part of my comment. It's a matter of temperament. I don't, for the reason I gave. Library is just a case study. Moreover habits die hard, once you do it to your book, it's very natural you will do to others'. I come across so many books in that state. Badly defaced and some even torn.

Why do u highlight important parts of your notes? To remember isn't it? How much more the bible. God wants us to use any means possible to remember His Word

it implies ju should av like two Bibles or more cus if ju dnt mark,note or shade; it means ju dnt study it. Better still get a Bible app on ur phone and Bible commentaries.
