While most Nigerian cities are experiencing CHANGE, my dear Portharcourt is experiencing uncommon transformation from Garden City to Garbage City since the change in government . I drove from Elele this morning en route Eleme. The whole of East West road from Choba to Eleme looked like Aba to me. The road and the demarcation have been taken over by giant heaps of refuse. This is pathetic as epidemic due to improper hygiene may break out in Portharcourt. The government and their agents on nairaland should act quickly. Here are a few pictures I took while driving.

After Julius Berger must have finished filling the potholes Wike contracted them for,he then has to collect the N10b the state assembly gave him approval for.Its from part of that money(the other part would be embezzled for the rainy day) that Wike would contract CCECC to clear the waste all over PH.
U people have to just be patient;with Wike in charge of Rivers state, the Lord is you people's strength.

From Govt Reserved Area to Garbage reserved Area

Please it's time for action and not blame trading for the pro and opposition parties. For now who ever is in charge should act. Turning PHC into a garbage town is to a very big disadvantage to the ruling PDP from what I saw on ground today being a part time resident of the town during Amaechi's reign before heading out for some tour in the north eastern part of the country. Coming back am very disappointed to be candid.

The authorities should do something about this.

Felix Obuah, PDP chairman in Rivers should be held responsible for this eyesore.


The guy is the Sole administrator, Rivers Waste Management Authority.

Nigerians needs to learn how to maintain their city. There is no need spending money to improve the country when it won't be maintained.

May be you were not in PH before WIKE was sworn in,....That's the reason you blame it on him

I passed this morning and from what I heard from colleagues, inside Portharcourt town is more littered than what I saw on the high way.
