This is about Nigeria and not about political parties or individuals. I vigorously but unofficially campaigned for APC in the last election not because I think the party is perfect but because I am convinced we need an improvement from the values and culture PDP has promoted so far in Nigeria, and APC seems to be a better alternative. I especially preferred the present President, Mr Buhari but I don't expect him to be perfect- that would have been unfair; I would rather support him without justifying him when I know he is wrong. Mr. Mohammadu Buhari, the President of Nigeria, is neither God nor an angel and as much as I know, he has never claimed to be perfect. Why are some people so fond of him that they will defend him at the expense of Nigeria. We don't need that please. If the President makes a mistake or is going off course from the vision laid down, those who truly love him will love Nigeria, will admit this and RESPECTFULLY challenge him. TOO BAD THAT JUST AS SOME READING THIS POST ARE SO FOND OF THE FORMER PRESIDENT, GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN, THAT THEY CHOOSE NOT TO SEE OR ADMIT ANYTHING WRONG IN HIS ADMINISTRATION, THERE ARE THOSE WHO ARE LIKE THAT ALREADY IN THIS NEW DISPENSATION. I think we don't just need change, we also need to change. Let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater, let's learn to separate people from issues. Let's respect one another even when trying to show our displeasure, AND PLEASE, LETS RESPECT THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT WITHOUT IGNORING THE VISION TO BUILD A BETTER NATION. IT IS CLEAR TO ME THAT IF NIGERIANS LEARN TO FOCUS ON BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL NATION RATHER THAN THE IMAGE OF ANY INDIVIDUAL, IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME, NIGERIA WILL NOT ONLY BECOME A DEVELOPED NATION, IT WILL ALSO BECOME AN EXCEPTIONAL SUPERPOWER. |

Wow OP.. you are a legend, you spoke my mind and that of many others with this small write-up. We still debated this yesterday, Mom is a dedicated PDP supporter and she has refused to admit that GEJ did anything wrong during his tenure at all. Am PMB supporter too and am guilty of deciding to close my eyes to anything Baba does wrong during these four years and let him just "Ride on".. Thanks OP for the Eye opener and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BEAUTIFUL MOM

@OP it is called cult followings. Many Nigerians interprete criticism of their principals or "hero" to be an affront, disrespect and hate. There is no doubt that past administration has its own flaws but it becomes insensitive when a Buhari fan will rather ask "what did GEJ do" rather than address the numerous flaws of President Buhari. As long as people fail to discuss isses, there will always be political fight. |

The real issue is the form of politics APC played into office. The denigration of the office of the president, the use of unspeakable names to describe GEJ which was alien to our polity, the constant bashing of every govt move, the lies and propaganda. These called for a lot of emotional investment to our politics. Right now, more than ever......APC succeeded in making us all fanatics and unfortunately along ethnic divide. Nigeria might not recover from the politics that has been played in the last 2 years. More name calling, more sabotage and more negative politics is on its way. Its way too late to call for moral evaluation |
| Re: Why Are People So Fond Of Buhari?--We Must Change by PMIcon(op): 9:12am On Jun 15, 2015 |
Flets:Let's leave the past behind. No more blame games, both parties were faulty on that. Let's build Nigeria. I apologize on behalf of APC to you and all those who feel the same way. |

Flets:JEG style of governance is alien to our polity and should PMB decide to go the way of JEG, what happened to JEG will be a child's play compare to PMB. People are only asking for a good government and I don't think its too much to ask. |
| Re: Why Are People So Fond Of Buhari?--We Must Change by Flets: 9:25am On Jun 15, 2015 |
7lives:Now thats the problem still..... leave the person of GEJ and focus on the issues. How can you say his style is alien to us yet over 12 million people voting him? How perfect was your polity before him that made his style alien? What were you used to before his emergence? Unless you are telling me Nigeria was perfect before he showed up Why is the current govt adopting his templates in almost all sectors ranging from collaboration with our neighbours against Bokoharam and still pushing for removal of subsidy What exactly are we alien to? If you were asked what you would have done differently. .... you will still tow the same lines along the propaganda sold during campaigns. Anyway, its already too late to cry over spilled milk. Nigeria is already what it is..... and we must live with and through it. |

I think nigerians were alian to freedom of expresion and GEJ introduced it. No gagging of the press , no arresting or use of power against the oppositions in order to still fear in people. |

7lives:Not too much to ask. But we should learn to trust again. Sometimes we speak too much how of fear of being failed again rather than being objective. |

I know that we are still recovering from the emotional trauma generated by probably the toughest Presidential contest ever in Nigeria. However, moving on is by decision- a decision we need to make on time. Let's see a future we all desire- a Nigeria where Americans, Europeans, Australians etc will desire to become a citizen of, a country where poverty and crime rate is at world-record low and EVERY citizen is respected and celebrated within and outside its borders. This is the Nigeria we all want, we don't need to let personal interest, politics, our past failures or any other thing hinder us from experiencing it. |

BLOTRS:You shouldn't disrespect the President. Seems you didn't read my post well. We should stop this name-callings. What do we stand to benefit as Nigerians from this kind of attitude? |

So na now una eyes clear, it has sudenly becomes a period for moral evaluaton but when GEJ was abused and insulted through the media it was not an issue abi...Buhari will be the most abused president nigeria ever had because his people already set the templete! |
| Re: Why Are People So Fond Of Buhari?--We Must Change by nyabingi(m): 1:43pm On Jun 15, 2015 |
when u guys were abusing GEJ left center right there was no need for moral evaluation abi...The Daura Cattle Rearer DCR will be the most abused and insulted president ever because his followers had set a templete running already...Jonathan was clueless but this one is a Dullard! |

nyabingi:Who are the guys abusing GEJ? If you can't name them all you should just speak responsibly and stop generalizing. For your information, most of those you say were abusing GEJ voted him in. You don't talk like you voted for President Buhari and you wouldn't even give him 2 months even if it was right for you to abuse him? |

The fact is Jonathan's failures will continue to haunt him for as long as Nigerians continue to suffer the effects, there's really no need for any further insults. In a similar pattern, for as long as PMB performs satisfactorily, any insults throw at him will slide off like an egg on a wall, and the person attacking brilliance will only look like a fool. The Bottom Line: disregard any insults thrown at your preferred party or politician, their performance will determine the potency of any derogatory names attached to them. |

OP, I sincerely wished everyone who would comment on ur post would appreciate what u are trying to achieve. So sad that the blame and name-calling game still persist. I sometimes even ask, dis name-calling and blame game on social media platforms, does it really have any impact? because if it doesn't, den it's stupid for sumone to continue d name-calling game. I for one neva called GEJ 'clueless' and would neva call PMB 'dullard'. So that guy who generalised everyone has calling GEJ dat name, get ur facts right. |
