Two men – Dauda Deborah
and Joshua Paul – were on Thursday charged before a Gudu Upper Area
Court in the FCT for allegedly receiving stolen goods.

The accused — Deborah, 28 and Paul, 25 – both of Durumi 2, Abuja, are
standing trial on a charge of receiving stolen property.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Shedrack Dauda told the court that the complainant,
Lucky Okolo of Kaura Modern Market at Prince and Princess Estate,
Abuja, reported the case at Kaura Police Station on June 13.

He said the complainant’s salesboy, Mohammed Ibrahim, stole some cartons of Indomie noodles and sold them to the accused. “Deborah bought the pack of Indomie for N2, 200, while Paul bought his for N500.” The offence contravened Section 317 of the Penal Code, Laws of the Federation.

The accused pleaded not guilty. The judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, granted each of the accused persons bail in the sum of N30, 000 with one surety each. Further hearing in the case has been fixed for July 31. (NAN)
