Evestar200:i have asked U to point out the diff.there is a reason I asked cos Im okpe and the Okpes come from Isoko.if u knkw the history of the Isokos you will recall there is a region n llace within called OKpe Isoko.still existing today.tjats the lart of Urhobos come from.so by u sayi g Isoko is not Urhobos then U might as well say okpe is not Urhobo.Further from tjat what do U say about the Ijevwes? Are they not Urhobks as well? The plane fact is Urhobos ja e more than one kingdom.Diff kings .Also U can check Isoko is part of UPU.so if isokos are not Urhobo what are they doing in UPU? |

erico2k2:isoko is not under UPU, isoko has is own union,I school in isoko Land and have be there for more than a year now but I can't speak or understand the language ,u re saying isoko and urhobo are one because u re from okpe clan and okpe clan migrated from isoko not like my clan that isoko migrated from, how many main urhobo can speak and understand the okpe and uvwie urhobo? those two clans have the most difficult language, ughievwen clan speak more of urhobo than okpe and uvwie clan ,the only isoko urhobo people can understand are the isoko that are closer to ughelli |

literarymathy:I respect your knowledge about your people. Not everyone does. But you got it wrong somewhere. Urhobos are not the fifth largest ethnic group in Nigeria. Are they more than the Ijaws or the Edos in terms of population or what? |
| Re: Interesting Facts About The Urhobo People Of Delta State by mulattoclaro(m): 5:50am On Jun 04, 2015 |
musiwa97:guy shut up. The Binis never migrated from odudduwa neither did the Urhobos. Stop trying to twist people's history. That's one thing I hate about you yorubas. |
| Re: Interesting Facts About The Urhobo People Of Delta State by Nobody: 8:59am On Jun 04, 2015 |
mulattoclaro:Ijaws are 4th largest and Urhobos are far larger than Edos. Infact, after Urhobo, the next is Ibibio before Edo. Kindly see any wiki article on Nigeria to verify. The only contest to Urhobo's 5th position comes from the Ibibios and it is unsettled till now. Ibibios claim 5th and so do the Urhobos. However, only the next census can resolve this. |

tonychristopher:No we the isokos are not urhobo though both languages are linguistically related they aint the same.for starters urhobo is made up of 3 languages uvwie, okpe and urho and isoko is made up of two isoko and erowha, erowha is not intelligble with other language and so other isoko do not understand them except u switch to centrall isoko .now back to the topic we have this urhobo woman opposite us from aladjga buh she doesn't undetstant a word of what we say except jocular remarks .my dad is very vast in isoko(extremely) buh only understands elementary urhobo.although my understands urhobo only because she learns languages easily (xcellent yoruba, few igbo, ijaw and hausa)only near-bye urhobo town ughelli is understood to a large extent by isokos cos their brand of urhobo is kinda lite and they understand to some xtent emevor(proximity) and enwhe(similar with urhobo language) clans of isoko buh not the other 17clans .isoko and urhobos while comminicating with each other don't use their language except u stay in a town of either of both groups and learn the language which is easier if either of them already know how to speak theirs coz it is linguistially similar .although we have similar names which means the same thing. Just lyk the chinese,Korean, singaporean languages sound and are even written similar buh for crying out loud they ain't the same is isoko and urhobo. And please DON'T EVER CALL US SOBOS AGAIN.mind u we also have a derogatory name 4 guys also. |

If we use LGA as you stated. The Anioma have 9 and the Urhobo 8.Guy u just wrote lyk a f.ool is by number of local govt or by number of people in it.check the website of delta state govt or beta still jux google delta population stats no anioma lga is on top 6(ughelli north, warri south, isoko south, ughelli north, uvwie, ethiope east)not even the wan containing dat village dat will always be under the shadow of onitcha. Delta central(urhobo excluding their majority population in warri) are 1.8 million, delta north(igbos including isokos in ndokwa east) are 1.3 million |

darfay:It's the white that used sobo to categorize you not me...I am sorry about that . Urhobo isoko aladja are all the same language with dialect variation so is ijebu oyo ife okun and awori Yoruba dialect so is ika ukwuani onitsha oru ikwerre wawa are igbo dialects Provided that both speakers understand themselves Why is it the urhobo and isoko are ashamed to speak their language when they meet a new urhobo itsterkiri in Lagos I noticed it when my urhobo friend said that ...why |
