Isn't it about time we do away with a bicameral legislature, pay legislators 1.5m flat rate each to purchase tokunbo vehicles for ease of movement, cancel wardrobe allowances (did they arrive Abuja in diapers?) purchase ALL newspapers only at Committee levels and have them take turns to read the newspapers, pay each legislature ONLY sitting allowances (no attendance no pay), have them sit ONLY at say, about 20 times in a legislative year, take out severance package. Let us take money out of politics and emphasise service and we will see only the best who seek to really serve seek election into the legislature.

Yes indeed! It holds true, generally speaking, across party divides. Buhari stands in a uniquely historical position to institutionalise the needed redirection of Nigerian politics from being money centric to a service centred one. I do hope he is awake to this reality and seizes the moment.
