How to Recall a Member of Representative or Senator in Nigeria
This is what the Nigeria constitution says about the recall of any elected members of the National Assembly.

Chapter Five section 110 of the Nigerian constitution says

A member of the House of Assembly may be recalled as such a member if –

(a) there is presented to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission a petition in that behalf signed by more than one-half of the persons registered to vote in that members’s constituency alleging their loss of confidence in that member; and

(b) the petition is thereafter, in a referendum conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission within ninety days of the date of the receipt of the petition, approved by a simple majority of the votes of the persons registered to vote in that member’s constituency.

I forsee these option been put to test in this dispensation, especially with the availability of the card reader.

I think we should make this recall a movement, let it trend so that they will know that the people that voted them in can pull then out constitutionally.

All these old men fighting over power, when will they have time for the citizens... Oh...

What do our youths know if not to abuse each other on social media? Outside social media, they are too busy doing other things and lobbying and respecting these people not knowing that they should be the ones pleasing the masses cos we can gang up against them.

Let's continue calling each other names on nairaland. When someone criticizes PMB they call them GEJites while the GEJ is cooling off abroad and having his much deserved rest. Let's see how long these bashings will continue.

I hope we become wiser and channel our grievances to the people.

The movement to recall this political area fathers will begin with this dispensation

getting thousands of signatures almost impossible though.however if you initiate such move and a senator got wind of it it is either you hammer or they make you disappear forever too dicey cos even with mopol and soja them dey still snatch ballot box

Thanks for the information. I pray that one day the youths and the people of Nigeria will get it right. Once we demand for accountability, things will change for good. I wish one of this people will be used as example.

Saraki n Dogara will surely be recalled in this dispensation.
