It is totally wrong for the bank to do a cover up. The customer care representative of the bank should have apologize to her online and reinstate their service commitment to the public instead of this rubbish counter tread. The CSM do not handle BVN and why would the op want the guy sacked. Am eye witness also confirmed the op's story.
I don't like the idea of calling her names just to rubbish her story. CHANGE
Don't mind us jooo, we are too used to being taken for granted. Makes me remember Fela in "Sorrow, Tears and Blood."
My people self dey fear too much
We fear for the thing we no see
We fear for the air around us
We fear to fight for freedom
We fear to fight for liberty
We fear to fight for justice
We fear to fight for happiness
We always get reason to fear

We no want die
We no want wound
We no want quench
We no want go

This really does look like a damage control thread. I am in the banking industry and even if this thread was the true version of accounts, why the hell would you ignore a customer talking to u? And why the hell does she have to come three times for something that should have been given to her immediately....

And that the guy refused to apologise is the height of being silly...dt he wasn't on seat the previous day alone is worth plenty apologies...and dt the head office pple tried to make him apologise and he refused is totally unacceptablem..on the balance of both threads...even assuming both were accurate accounts...the banker in question has just given eco bank extreme reputation as damage.

Some people are blaming her for complaining?
he should have thought about his job before acting the way he did.
A lot of people take their jobs for granted.
go to Nairaland job section and see how many people need a job.

there is no excuse for treating a customer that way.
Even if she tried to talk to you while you are busy
you tell her. Madam please hold on, i will be with you shortly ( even if that shortly is 1 hour)

There is no room for such behaviour. every profession has its ethics.
if he cannot treat people with respect customer care is not his calling.

from what i have read here. i would assume ( not 100% o) that he got this job thorough connection
If he suffered like most graduates. climb okada, print cv for business centre etc.
His head will correct well

Did u read charism part of the story? its more believable.. how can Eden claim she went to the bank and met no queue during this period of BVN?so she walked straight to the bank official and stretched her card,he collected it and flung it back to her and upon that call her goat...hanhan...that's too much lie to believe

I'm embarrassed that you claim to live in the US, and yet you made the statement below!!! Oluwa mi!!! How on earth coulld you allow camaraderie make you denigrate this young lady?

Listen here, if you work in the kitchen, you can't complain about the heat! If you can't stand the heat, leave the kitchen!!! Period! Nigeria is known generally for poor customer service from the gbole and fish seller to the heights of service delivery! When can we start changing? We don't change because of people like you!!

I don't care if all parts of her story are true, but the bank is duty bound to treat every customer with the best of professionalism despite any form of aggravation! The guy had no reason not apologising because he should have known that in the final analysis, it's not personal! He is an agent of the bank, and must act in all intents and pursues to propagate the ideals and interests of the bank, willy nilly!!

Can we step above mediocrity?? Your poo about bankers being denigrated is symptomatic of the average Nigerian ego that doesn't understand humility! Most Nigerian bankers have a high sense of self worth, and rather put down customers with their demeanour! The entitlement mentality that people supposedly in authority show in Nigeria is mind boggling!!!

Yeah, the lady too showed ego and may have overreacted, but that is not the point! Haven't you heard of homogeneous customer service? Every good company would want to have the same experience for all their branches! Any chink in the armour is not desirable!

Appeal to sentiments should stop! If the guy was more concerned about his job, he should have handled the matter with decorum! I'd fire him if I was his boss, and I expect the bank to do the needful and fire the proud oaf who even ignored an entreaty from his head office!!

SAY NO TO SENTIMENTS AND LOW BENCHMARKS! THAT'S ONE OF THE WAYS WE CAN GALVANISE CHANGE IN ALL SECTORS OF THE ECONOMY!!

I find it difficult to believe that a professional worker will call a customer a goat( a lady for that matter) in a professional environment and in the presence of other customers. This Eden lady might just be trying to get back at d bank employee for other reasons she is not stating.

some of us here knows this lady might be giving false accusation but still supporting her because of the tedious process we sometimes go through in the bank.
Maybe he did call her a goat and maybe he didn't, as long as you were not there when it happened and there is no video/audio recording online to confirm it, it is wisdom to give people the benefit of doubt. It could be you and how would you feel when you are been condemned by people for what some person(s) wrote or said about you that may not be true.
FYI, i am a doctor, not a banker.

i have this feeling all of this is co-incidence, Op here probably saw a lady involved in almost the same scenario and concluded it Eden here. Cos according to eden she was there for her master-card pin while charism was in da bank for bvn. So it could just be a case of co-incidence.

Charism:
I saw this thread in frontpage today by Eden1747(f).

https://www.nairaland.com/2408171/humiliation-ecobank-badagry

I was @ECOBANK badagry earlier today to collect my BVN number, and I witnessed first hand the drama and ensued between you and the CSM. I noticed that your account of the story was not exactely what happened. I would have chose to overlook it when I saw it on nairaland, but for prosterity sake I would say the real truth.

That was not true, he was attending to an elderly man and there was a queue before you which you jumped (I was the 3rd guy on the queue). Yes he ignored you for few seconds, but you didn't tell us that you were the one who snapped at him first not the other way round.

Totally false he NEVER called you a goat, or fling any card at you. I was there, you snapped at him first saying that he should answer you first before following the queue, and the reason you gave was that you had been looking for him since yesterday although he raised his voice at you, while trying to explain to you to follow the queue.

True.

That was not the reason he gave. He said he won't apologize to you because he was not wrong.
.

Lies.

Please, please I understand you are hurt cos you weren't attended to on time but that does not mean you should go about spreading falsehoods and whining like a spoilt selfish kid. There were people you met at the bank follow the queue and you will be attended to, you are not more special than the rest of us.

Honestly she sound like a spoilt selfish kid. angry

@OP, You lied,

She came to the bank for ATM pin and you for BVN, and there is no way both of you can be on the-same queue.

And for you to acknowledge she called the head office and the guy refused to apologies, means you work in that Bank.

I disagreed with you. For the fact that some banks are filled with people who want BVN , does not mean all banks has to be that way.
I was at three different (fcmb, firstbank and Gt) bank yesterday at oba akran, ikeja. to update my bvn and in all this banks , the queue was not even up to 10 people.

@OP I can bet that lady is not lying. I have had my own share with Eco bank Badagry before I dumped them for Zenith Badagry.

They have very rude staffs starting from dddd the CMS to ddd the guy doing funds transfer to the fair fat girl at the customers services before.

Just to get an alert for my account took the lady two weeks! And I kept coming to let them know I still don't get alert whenever a transaction was done on my
account all she could say was "I am busy and I cannot do it now" while she was doing nothing. It took her two weeks to get it done.

Standing in front of dddd to get my pin and he was talking on the phone for like 10 mins after that he began conversation with one of his co not minding me for another 5mins. That was unprofessional and verry rude.

dddd refused to transfer funds for me for reasons best known to him. When I asked, he said he the account holder is their bank cleaner so he wouldn't to do it. I latter got to know he was expecting me to "roger" something which I refused .

To all intents and purposes Eden's story appears grossly doctored with the vindictiveness that comes with an egocentric air of self importance.
I've been unfortunate to come across rude bankers, but nothing beats coming across the likes of this Eden.
According to her story she politely walked up to a male banker who was not attending to any customer at the said time, handed her card to him and without provocation he called her a goat and flung her card at her... hello! she really must believe we're all retarded.
You want him fired and I'm 90% certain you'll achieve just that.. I
'm also 100% certain you could never be truly happy with this diabolic narcissistic attitude.
