I am guessing I am one of the few foolish one that left some money in a Nigerian account. But I tried to transfer my money to my foreign account today and absorb the foreign exchange losses and retard bank spreads. But to my surprise my transactions have been blocked (it is still a few days before the deadline ) . Obviously when I put money in an account I had no idea that they could block my account based on useless rulings to mitigate "fraud" which is crazy as the real fraudsters are the regulators. I had doubt about holding a significant amount of money in Nigeria but I assumed I was safe as long as I was a nobel citizen.

According to the BVN website and banks , no protocol has been made to facilitate those in the diaspora. They have to be kidding right, they had 7 months at leasts and its freaking biometric data. What happens to the accounts of Nigerians in the diaspora with money in Nigeria, people like my brother in Alevel have only one bank account which is based in Nigeria. He is 17 years old and can't go about daily transactions because his home country expects him to buy a plane ticket he cannot afford to take pictures Is that money gone for good ?

My bank advised me to fill the diaspora account form. I can later get the BVN anytime I return.

As if u people don't no Nigerian...am 101 percent sure dat dey will extend it.

What bank do you use. Mine just said nothing they can do and I use Zenith and GTB

I use First Bank.

I just called GTBank from India here, and I was told to fill an update form with my Indian address and also scan a utility bill and my Int'l passport datapage to them...
