I recently bought some items on alibaba which I paid for shipments though some of the items are free shipping. but my surprise was that the postman insisted I pay 500 for the smallest item I ordered and even 1200 for bigger item. I want to know if it is normal to pay for receiving items at the post office after paying for its shipment or the guy just scammed me? |

it is a normal occurrence, but what i do not know is if it is legal/authorized. I think it might be charges for customs duties or something of that nature, but like I said, I do not know if it is legal/authorized. Funny thing is that this does not happen in developed countries where I have contacts in, I have only experienced it here in Nigeria. |

its very normal. even wit d big couriers. I recently shipped with fedex Iand I was charged hugely even afta shipping costs. it was called custom duty. |
