I have been nursing the idea for quite a while now, i keep postponing sharing it with others. I am thinking of setting up an online DJ forum for upcoming dj to show case their talents and promote it. I am an upcoming Dj that resides in Maryland,USA. I joined the forum in order to get tips from professionals that will teach me how to DJ better. I have my first big gig coming up in 2weeks a 50yr old B-Day party which will consist of mostly Nigerians. I am somewhat nervous because I feel like I don't know what to open with Eventho there will be a live band as well. Can anyone give me some ideas on how to make this party a memorable one. Thank you

HEY MEHN.... FOR YOU TO HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO DJ AT THE PARTY THEN YOU'RE GOOD. WHOEVER EMPLOYED YOU TO DJ AT THE PARTY MUST HAVE SEEN SOMETHING IN YOU TO HAVE SELECTED YOU.
TALK TO YOUR EMPLOYER TO KNOW THE SORTA SONGS HE'LL BE EXPECTING FROM YOU, THE SORTA PEOPLE YOU'LL BE EXPECTING AT THE PARTY AND JUST BE YOURSELF.
THESE DAYS, MOST PEOPLE (YOUNG AND OLD) KNOW ALL THESE POPULAR NEW SCHOOL NIGERIAN SONGS (I GUESS YOU'RE A NIGERIAN RIGHT?) AND THEY'LL DANCE TO THEM. SO AS I SAID, DO YOUR THING AND I'M SURE YOU'LL WOW THE CROWD.

hey bro..u just need to have a free mind and enjoy the party ursef. No pressure okay? I think you should start the party with some Nigerian old school jams for the 50's people and it should be the popular ones from their time..I think that will set the mood of the party then you gradually start drifting back the the new school..just a little bit of the new and d old..it will b fun..
