In Lagos state there are the Yorubas and the Guns, in Ondo, there are the Yorubas and the minority Ijaws.... There are also Baribas in Northern Oyo state, but just a tiny tiny minority.
That does not mean the SW isn't mono-ethnic, since more than 95% of the indigenes of the region are ethnically Yoruba.

I use the term Nigerdeltan or deltan sometimes to indicate place not identity. The only people using it FOR tribal identity are the many impostors on these online forums.

But the constant nonstop bickering about the SS geo political zone is nauseating. If they had called it South central, many will still be opening threads and complaining today. SS is a Nigerian political lexicon, nothing more.

SS people are at a particular disadvantage because they don't have the numbers to be lackadaisical about their language. If i want to learn Igbo or Yoruba I can do so without stepping foot in Igbo or Yoruba land because they're numerous, wide spread, and their identities are strong. If you tell an Ogoni kid in Lagos his 'Rivers' for his whole life, where will he learn his language? How?

That's a big lie, Fon was NEVER A VASSAL STATE to OYO. Let's say the truth and not massage our egos. Even their ladies dealt us serious blows during wars, Dahomey Amazons remember them.
