The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the over N700 billion released from the nation’s coffers as bailout to states and local governments across the country was saved in the Excess Crude Account by President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

The party said it believe the money will go a long way in alleviating the sufferings of the Nigerian workers in various states of the federation who have not received their salaries for months but stressed that the money was accumulated by the PDP led federal government and handed over to President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A statement by PDP national publicity secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, Tuesday, said the release of the funds was a contradiction of the earlier impression given by President Buhari to Nigerians and the international community that they should not expect much from his administration in its first one hundred days because upon assumption of office, he met virtually an empty treasury.

If GEJ had that money, why did he help alleviate "the suffering" of the Nigerian workers?

Is Olisa Metuh saying the PDP would rather make a political statement than perform its obligation to Nigerians?

The other over $2 billion was saved in private pockets. Yeye dey smell . The one that said the treasury is empty must be high on something . Polithiefcians, I no dey trust them.

I think dis Metuh guy is becoming outdated and he need someone to bring to his consciousness that he isn't doing this job of his well. He is just trying to belong, and someone PDP will come out soon to say that's his own opinion and not that of the party.
With this point of his, he should cover his face in shame. I think he need to be tutored by Obiageli.

Just IMAGINE. But Jonathan didn't bail them out then. Now they are trying to give Jonathan credit for what Buhari just did for them

He is only saying if not for the funds saved by Jonathan how would useless governors like Aregbesola be able to pay salaries he missapropriated
