Hello medical inclined nairalanders

I had malaria fever sometime last week and recovered on Saturday and just this Monday I woke up with a sore lib, a very small wound on my lib, though I do see it on my tongue many months ago.... maybe last year and days later it will go on its on..... but however this time it appeared on my lib and gives me deep pain.... I mistakenly applied salt on it, in an attempt to sanitize it against germs as it is an open wound.... to my surprise the wound expanded.

since then till now eating has been so fearful, people told me it will go on it own as its a malaria symptom.... others said its a sign of recovery from malaria..... I dont know what to do any more to hasten its healing...... My neighbour even advised me to apply toothpaste on it....please am I lacking a particular vitamin or is it just a normal malaria symptom.

how do you know you have malaria. have you gone for test? ...mouth sore can mean a lot.

OP, go see a doctor. A lot of things can cause sore to appear on tge lips and tongue. Esp those that appear and disappear on their own. The timming may not play an important role as coincidences may occur in some health issues.

get natural honey and aloe lips also stop using toothpaste that would not work at all.
