This is change! The idea of #CHANGE as Nigerians knew n voted for is that d APC comes in and does things differently from the PDP and even past eras of governance in Nigeria. Nigerians expect as GMB and handlers promised, a u-turn in the right direction since we have been headed wrong all along. If the rules favoured a political party before then this change is good in that it favours all Nigerians as represented by their regions. APC must also ensure that d dividends of democracy esp constituency projects are carried out and Nigerians feel the impact. They should work towards strong institutions that will stand even when people come and go, not strong people that will hold d country to ransom while milking our resources dry with impunity. Senators of whatever party were voted to represent and better the lots of their people with good laws and every other thing. Party affiliation is not and should be seen to be an obstacle! Get to work! |

where is Buhari? The president was secretly overthrown 30th May 2015 on orders of America so that their stooge Osinbajo could be installed at a time of their choosing. This why he doesn't appear at live public events that could be verified by ordinary Nigerians , e.g. his non appearance to inaugurate his own NAss. His non appearance in any press conference. His non appearance at Armed Forces day ceremony. The absence of a single video clip showing the president being asked a single question. The apparent disappearance of his transition committee and his staunchest loyalists including his wife. Whilst people like Osinbajo, Atiku, El Rufai , Oshiomole, Shettima, Saraki and Dogara become more prominent and influential . All images you see of the president Buhari since his inauguration were photographed between 30th March 2015 and 31st May 2015, that includes his trips to G7 and AU summits (he attended preliminary gatherings of those summits in May 2015, there are youtube videos that prove the president was absent from live sessions of AU summit in June 2015, when other leaders were meeting) Stop expecting change and start expecting a bloodbath. List of African presidents that have been probably poisoned include : |

If the Senate is to be considered that of a truly United Federal Republic of Nigeria, I believe we do away with the so-called geopolitical zoning of appointments . The zones are not even Constitutional entities but merely divisions of convenience. Why are we now making them seem to appear to form the very basis of our existence as a people? Before you know it, people in the same zone will soon begin to quarell over which State should take a particular position meant for the zone. The zones are not even necessarily homogeneous. For example, what does a Yoruba man from Kwara have in common with a Gbagi from Niger or Udoma from Benue States? Yet they are all in the same so-called geopolitical zone. I believe emphasis must be placed on merit if we are to make a headway in conducting our affairs in this country. |

JstLeslie:It means it was reviewed FOUR times during PDP rule of 16 years. HOW COME IT WAS NOT IMPORTANT THEN THAT COMMITEE SHOULD BE SHARED EQUALLY AMONG GEOPOLITICAL ZONES? You nauseating IGBOS PDP goons did not say it was good for Nigeria when south west had only 5 commitees chairmanship while some had three times. It was already that during the FOUR terms of PDP, an average of 50 chairmanship slots goes to the ruling party PDP? SARAKI IS A SLAVE TO PDP. THEY HAVE HIM BY THE BALLS. HE HAS SOLD HIMSELF TO PERPETUAL BLACKMAIL TO PDP AND THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING. PDP 's agenda is to use SARAKI to regain power by undermining buhari and APC GOVERNMENT. THE PARTY SHOULD CUT THEIR LOSS AND EXPEL THIS TREACHEROUS BASTARD WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. SARAKI WILL INEVITABLY PORT TO PDP EVENTUALLY. WHY POSTPONE THE EVEL DAY! |

softwareman:Very funny. When Saraki ported to APC, He was hailed by d ruling party. When he emptied kwara treasury to sponsor GMB campaigns. He wasn't seen as a bad seed. Mind u that one of the reasons he left PDP was because of candidate imposition. What makes u think he will allow same imposition now that he is in APC. APC should not blame PDP for its internal crisis. If they had their acts in other, what is currently happening in NASS won't have occurred at all. The days of them being opposition and basking in d glory of propaganda is over. They should now do that which dey promised. |

Ghandi12:The National Assembly consumes 25% of the recurrent expenditure, not the entire budget. However, I agree that the present 2-chamber NASS is a drain on the finances of the country. I'll prefer a unicameral federal legislature, like what obtains in the states. The unicameral fed legislative body will comprise 7 'senators' representing each state and 3 representing the FCT. The total income of each Senator won't exceed N2 million/month. The single-chamber legislature will lead to significant savings on the treasury. I wouldn't advocate for the complete abolition of the legislative branch because the very essence of a Republican democratic society is the ability of the 3 branches of government to be an effective check on each other. The absence of an independent legislative body=executive tyranny. |
