The Lagos West Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party at the just concluded March 28th and 29th National Assembly Elections, Segun Adewale popularly known as Aeroland wrote on his Facebook page:


It is disheartening to know that efforts to correct the anomalies during the last general elections may be jeopardised by the uncooperative moves of INEC.

I would like to call on the Chief Justice of Nigeria and all well meaning Nigerians by asking what a responsible citizen like my humble self should do in reclaiming my mandate after taking all legal steps and there is still a sabotage of efforts.

According to the results collated from agents across polling units across the Senatorial district during the elections, I was clearly the winner of the election. Surprisingly, the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner.

Though the elections petitions tribunal has since been approached to make things right, INEC has worked tirelessly to ensure that the case doesn’t see the light of the day by denying the case the certified true copies of results.

It should be noted that the electoral officers of the following local governments; Mushin, Alimosho, Agege and Ifako-Ijaiye have complicated the case having failed to produce the certified true copies (CTC) of results from their respective local governments. These were notably the hot zones for electoral malpractices during the election.

The INEC have produced just about a fraction of the documents needed with the case still ongoing which includes results written on paper sheets and not on form EC8A series, production of results for polling units where elections did not hold amongst others.

Recently, it was brought to my attention the stealing of some vital exhibits by a legal representative of the APC in connivance with some judiciary workers to forestall the Tribunal proceedings.

These and more have brought me to ask Nigerians how a responsible citizen should seek redress and also call on the Chief Justice of the Federation, Mahmud Mohammed to look into this case very carefully. If indeed we are in the era of “CHANGE” in this country, INEC must be independent and the courts must allow justice to prevail.

No one in my family bought cars for royal fathers and collected it back after losing.
No one in my family is deluded to say he won 6 out of 10 Local government when he actually won 4. No one is my family is disrespectful enough to bring another person's family into matters that does not concern them.
