FG Should Ban Red Bulbs In Nigeria, To Improve Power Supply In Nigeria? by rodwillow(op): 10:37am On Jul 14, 2015
I have been thinking and can't help wondering why the FG cannot ban this Red Bulbs, statically they consume power a lot, imagine Those bulbs producing 100w and a some producing 200w, compared to the white fluorescence power saver that produces 20w at most, . And most of these red bulbs are used mainly in rural communities where they complain of inefficient power supply because they are affordable to buy, While in some urban areas where the use of white bulbs tends to enjoy light more,
Solution - ban importation of the red bulbs, reduce cost of white bulbs, it crazy when one 200w bulb is being used, means that's the power of 10 white bulbs.

0P, can i understand you, what do you mean by Red bulb?

Do you mean the Red bulbs found in Ashawo houses? Those ones use less energy.

or do you mean this type of bulb below?

They are called incandescent or filament bulbs. These are the common bulbs found in almost all the houses in Nigeria. They consume lots of energy with low energy conversion efficiency factor. What i mean is it converts little energy to light and dissipate higher percentage of energy in form of heat. No wonder the bulb is very hot when u touch it.

If this type of is what you mean by Red bulbs, i support u.
