STORY FOR THE GODS... AGREED THE LIGHT IS BETTER.. BUT LETS BE FAIR ..I DNT THINK CREDIT FOR THIS SHOULD GO TO BUHARI.. THE TRUTH IS THAT SOME IIDIOTS ARE NOW DOING THEIR JOBS .. FOR FEAR OF BEING KICKED OUT... BUHARI IN HIS CAMPAIGN STATED HE WILL REVIEW THE POWER SECTOR AND SHAKEUP THE INDUSTRY EVEN TO THE SALE OF DISCOS ..

U KNOW THE WAY WE USED TO SIT UP AND BEHAVE WHEN A NEW TEACHER WALKS INTO CLASS.. YEAH.. THATS IT.. BEHAVE AND SCAN THE TERRAIN TO FIND OUT IF ITS STIILL BUSINESS AS USUAL.. AND IF IF AFTER A FEW MONTHS U NOTICE THE GUY IS ALL TALK AND NO BITE LIKE GEJ THEN THINGS GO BACK TO NORMAL..OOKK GEJ NO EVEN TALK SEF NOT TO TALK OF BITE BUT THATS HISTORY..

THE PROBLEM IS NOT LACK OF INFRASTRUCTURE .. WE ALWAYS HAD THE INFRASTRUCTURE WE HAVE THE GAS TURBINES .. WE HAVE THE DAMS AND ALL THAT .. THE PROBLEM HAS ALWAYS BEEN INEFFICIENCY AND LACK OF PROPER MANAGEMENT...SO BEFORE U GUYS START CELEBRATING LETS HOPE BABA GO SLOW WALKS THE TALK..

FROM WHAT I SEE .. THATS NOT GOING SO WELL... HE REVERSED ON SUBSIDY REMOVAL.. BEFORE HE CAME IN.. HE SAID HE DID NOT KNOW WHAT SUBSIDY WAS.. I REMEMBER WE SUFFERED FUEL SCARCITY BECAUSE OF THIS SINGULAR FEAR BY MARKETERS THAT BUHARI WILL NOT FOLLOW THE SUBSIDY FRAUD.. NOW THE STORY IS CALM DOWN WE NEED TO GO THROUGH DUE PROCESS AND AMEND CONSTITUTION BEFORE WE TOUCH SUBSIDY LETS LEAVE IT FOR NOW.. STORY FOR THE GODS...

NOW EVERYBODY SEEMS TO BE CRUCIFYING NNPC .. BUT WE ARE YET TO SEE SOME REAL SHAKE UP.. OOK NOW THEY ALSO NEED TO AMEND CONSTITUTION FOR THAT TOO .. AWWW ABII NAA.... ..

AGREED DSS IS BAD SO U PUT IN A OLD MAN FROM YOUR DAURA KINGDOM WHO IS ALL OUT FOR VENGANCE WITHOUT RECOURSE TO SRUCTURE.. ARMY IS HORRIBLE SO BEG THE CHADIANS TO COME TO OUR AID ..BOKO CALMED DOWN BUT NOW THEY ARE REGROUPING COS THE MOMENTUM HAS GONE DOWN.. SO SOW THEY ARE BOMBING AND KILLING PEOPLE..BUT LETS NEGOTIATE AND GRANT THEM AMNESTY...

GOVS STEAL MONEY AND FUND ELECTIONS WITH WORKERS SALARY OOK .. DASH THEM MORE MONEY....

FOR ALL OUR SAKES LETS HOPE THIS MAN IS NOT ALL TALK.. COS IF HE IS .. THEN SOONER OR LATER I CAN BET YOU THE DARKNESS WILL RETURN.. AND THE MADNESS WILL CONTINUE . THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WILL BE NEW MAD MEN OR BETTER STILL MAD MEN IN NEW CLOTHES..

Don't forget we are in the rainy season. Water levels have risen in Kainji dam and the other hydro-electric power stations. So they are able to generate improved levels of power, due to the higher water levels.

Secondly, some of the rehabilitation works started by the power companies under the last regime are just being completed leading to improved transmission facilities, especially at the hydro stations.

Once the rainy season goes down, the epileptic power supply will be back. The fact that some parts of the country enjoy steady power supply now, does not mean all other parts of the nation are enjoying the same thing. The level of power transmission lines and infrastructure in some districts is really poor and cannot support efficient electricity distribution. undecided

Finally, I posted this request in one of the other threads but no one has given me a response:

Somebody should please advise me. If your pre-paid metre goes bad or develops a fault, whose job is it to get it repaired? Isn't it the Disco who is the offspring of PHCN/NEPA that sold it to you in the first place? undecided

Can you imagine that I went to report the fact that my meter was faulty at the Eko Disco office and the first thing they told me was to go and pay =N=70k to buy another one!!! shocked shocked angry

Chai! Why are these Discos treating us anyhow in this country? Why? shocked shocked
What then is the use of the monthly charges the Discos deduct every month? Isn't it supposed to cover maintenance of the meter? Can someone help me out here?? sad

Water levels have always been high and low every season, so that couldn't be the reason why there's sudden improvement in the light situation. Just believe it's the "Change" ushered in that's doing the magic.

It is not possible to believe it is the so-called "Change". Come back after the rainy season or in the next 4 months, to assess the power situation. If it remains stable, during the dry season then your mantra of 'change' may win new converts. undecided

Apart from the increased levels of water at the dams, a lot of rehabilitation work has also been done several months before now, on transmission infrastructure and upgrade of equipment at some of the power plants. Power projects have a lengthy gestation period and take a long time to complete. Their equipment could not have been upgraded or overhauled, in just 3-4 weeks that Buhari became President. shocked

Kindly do your research and talk to those who work in the power sector before you draw your conclusions.

All these could be true, but you forgot about the human factor.

There has been a remarkable improvement from the last time I reported. No one now has to worry about buying kerosene, lamps, torchlights, candles, matches, charging phones, boiling water, ironing dresses etc., because electricity, at nearly 99% availability, the people have taken everything for granted. The light is almost constant now. But there are those who'd want us to return to the dark days of yesterday. .at God banish for us, forever, those dark days.
