Can the e-Sim be accessed without an internet connection, or must one be connected to the internet before they can watch a video file stored in the sim? This is the questions Nigerians should be asking instead of saying shiit like "Nice one" to every damn thing.
This tech wouldn't work on feature phones. It's gonna be for smartphones and these companies believe your smartphones should always be connected to the Internet.

Na we dey count Internet as issue. So yes, I believe it's gonna be an Internet thing

All the new generation phoning devices we make use of today are collectively known as Smart phones. I don't know what you meant by feature phone.

On the E-sim issue, does an average Nigerian stay connected to the internet always? I don't think so. The unfair data plan packages prevalent in this country made it impossible.

This E-sim thing is a bad idea right now for the Nigerian market, till the NCC and the various telecommunication giants get things right.

Bro there are still chunks of features phones in the market. Your everyday Nokia torch is one of them. Samsung and Apple care less about Nigeria not completely Internet connected. What's their business with NCC and it working here in 2016?

Check out the listed service providers mentioned, which is from Africa there? None right, they care about advanced countries where Internet problem is a thing of the past.

for those of u thinking it will require internet connection the answer is NO.the sim will still be inside just like internal memory but the difference is that u can use the inbuilt sim for different network provider

i said consumers will have
the ability to switch
carriers without
getting a new card.
This implies that
swapping SIMs to
switch phones may
soon be long gone as
everything would be
done via an interface
on the device.so it wouidnt require internet connection

For a moment there, I thought it was an
SD card issue, my brain somehow was processing an E-Sim as an E-SD card, but
now that I read the topic again, I was
snapped back into reality.

It's quite a good development.
