Gordon Obua, the former chief
security officer (CSO) to former
President Goodluck Jonathan, is now
in a “stable condition” after falling
ill on Monday, TheCable
understands.

Obua, who has been detained by the
SSS in Abuja since the night of July
16, had embarked on hunger strike to
protest the conditions of his
detention.

He was denied access to outsiders,
including his doctor, lawyer and
family members – and his lawyer
claimed on Sunday that Obua was
also denied his medications for
hypertension and diabetes.

The effect of the hunger strike took
its toll on the detainee on Monday
and he fainted, according to an SSS
source, leading to speculations that
Obua had died.

The source added that Obua was
taken to the hospital and was treated
and discharged on Monday, after
which he was returned to SSS
headquarters where he is being
detained.

TheCable could not confirm if Obua
has been allowed access to his
medications.

The SSS is yet to officially comment
on the detention of Obua, who served
as CSO to Jonathan from 2010 to
2015.

But TheCable had earlier reported
that he was being held as part of a
broad investigation into security
spending in recent years as well as
allegations of oil theft.

The SSS also raided the Abuja and
Sokoto residences of Sambo Dasuki,
former national security adviser, on
July 16 and 17 as part of the
investigation into security spending.

If he refuses to eat, no problem. The hospital can infuse him with Dextrose saline, and some glucose. His body will continue to be fed if he refuses to take food by mouth.
He will languish in that SSS cell till he confesses to all his corrupt dealings and those of his boss GEJ.

Exactly, he will belleful by fire by force.

TANoids were already celebrating because they have been starved of bad news about Nigeria and thought they could use this against PMB after the multiple heart attacks they suffered because of the US trip.

Try again next time, but for now, keep wailing.

The PDP propaganda machine is being revived according to Ihedioha's instructions,

Concerning what the PDP will need to do to regain its place in the national polity, he said, “We must do what we must do, using propaganda and blackmail. When you don’t blackmail when you are in the opposition, you are wasting your time. Marry the media as quickly as possible and do the needful when it needs to be done.

-Emeka Ihedioha (Former Deputy Speaker)

The guy no die again ni? Abi he's d proverbial
cat with 9 lives?

Like I do say, sensational journalism will kill Nigeria if Nigeria doesn't do anything about it. I read a thread here dis morning that d guy had Passed away in under-g cell. That ways how sensational journalism misled Prof. Tai Solarin to sue govt in d 80s about d #2.8billion 'missing' under Buhari and Fela went ahead to sing about it only for the newspaper to find it difficult to buttress the claim with verifiabe facts. Tai Solarin realised his mistake very late and apologised to Buhari but the latter told him to publish the apology in national dailies which the former considered denigrating.

A very good survival tip that we watch in wild life documentaries: simply feign death when a predator approaches wink and you will be left alone.

under d rule of law, you cant detain some1 for more than 24hrs without charging him to court ... you dont arrest people b4 you get evidence to do so for this same reasons... and you dont deny anyone of his medications, even terrorist... but am not surprised , our new president is a dictatorand his followers are daft...

Buhari and his team is playing with Fire...There are no genuine grounds for his continued detention,if there is any incriminating evidence against him he should be charged to court,His continued detention is unlawful, illegal, irrational and the height of insensitivity
