Press Statement issued in August 2012 is haunting President Buhari, and we have it on good authority that this is the underlying reason for Buhari's change of tune yesterday about probing past leaders, except Jonathan's government.

The concern is that IBB and OBJ have very damaging records of Buhari's tenure as Petroleum Minister under OBJ and as Chairman of PTF under General Sani Abacha.

“On Gen. Buhari, it is not in IBB’s tradition to take up issues with his colleague former President. But for the purpose of record, we are conversant with Gen. Buhari’s so-called holier-than-thou attitude.

If buhari is fearless as his supporters claim, then should probe Ibb and watch how he will be disgraced. Why is he leaving ibb and obj?

I thought PMB was incorruptible! Wao IBB and OBJ are the greatest problems we have in this country. First OBJ single handedly selected and elected Yaradua by making our votes not to count and now IBB has sent goose pimples all over PMB. And they want to probe GEJ alone.....dia is god oooo

Probe all that can be probed and leave not any that should be probed.

IBB is the Don Corleone of Nigeria, NOBODY can touch him. The mention of the name Babangida causes Buhari to break out in a cold sweat. As long as IBB and OBJ are not investigated I'll always know that Buhari is nothing more than a noise making coward with no backbone.

Probe all that can be probed and leave not any that should be probed.

Will they probe themselves? I don't think they will.
Military men understand only one language: force and threat.

For example if you want OBJ to leave you alone, then attack him ceaselessly. You will be surprised to see him avoid you like plague and keep his mouth shut on your matters.

This is what is happening to Buhari right now. I personally don't believe he has stashed huge sums of money somewhere.
However, I do believe he turned a blind eye to people from the North who looted PTF funds via dubious contracts.

Buhari's Northern sentiments is his biggest albatross.
Even though we know El-Rufai corruptly enriched himself via dubious contracts with CBN during Sanusi Lamido's tenure as CBN governor, and allocated land to his under-aged children and wives in Abuja as FCT Minister, Buhari will not touch him.

This selective war on corruption will hurt Buhari more than anything else, because it is the central plank of his campaign promises and his total personality.

You don't understand how Government works thats why you're asking for the probe to go back 30yrs. Either that or you're being willfully mischievous.

If OBJ or IBB had anything incriminating on Buhari they'd have released it more than 30yrs ago.

Oya government expert tell us the workings of government that prevents the probe from going back 30 years to 1985.

Or is there some clause in civil service Act that limits probes to 6 years only.

Nobody is holding or preventing Buhari from fixing Nigeria.
As a matter of fact, no Nigerian leader has ever stepped into that office with so much goodwill, prayers for success, and huge benefit of doubt like Buhari.

Even those he unjustly persecuted and maimed have all forgiven him and praised him to high heavens, just to give him chance to start afresh and succeed. He is almost being deified. People are becoming worried that he will begin to see himself as god, who could do no wrong.

Right now, Buhari's greatest enemy is Buhari. The country is all his to make or break. He is already beginning to take illegal steps forgetting he is operating in a democratic environment with checks and balances. There is also the free press, and the eagled eye public with social media which did not exist during his last coming as Military Head of State in 1984.

For example, the Service Chiefs he has just appointed should have been vetted and approved by the National Assembly before they start working. Buhari is either not yet aware, or feels he can get away with it. As of today, there are no substantive Services Chiefs. If a lawyer takes this up legally, we shall see another round of heat in the polity. All these can be avoided because all he had to do is present the names to National Assembly, and they will be approved.

GEJ ran into this problem with the last set of service Chiefs.

Wow! IBB still relevant ,they can probe but GEJ will be vindicated elevating his already high level status as statesman just wait and see
