Three people check into a hotel.
They pay £30 to the manager and go to their room.
The manager suddenly remembers that the room’s rate is £25 and gives £5 to the bellboy to return to the people.

On the way to the room the bellboy reasons that £5 would be difficult to share among three people so he pockets £2 and gives £1 to each person.

Now each person paid £10 and got back £1.
So they paid £9 each, totaling £27. The bellboy has £2, totaling £29.

Where is the missing £1?

same old riddle:
there is no missing dollar, if you understand mathematics.
each paid £10 to make it £30, they should have paid £25 so they then get refunded £1 each to make it that they paid £9 each, which gives a total of £27... if you then DEDUCT (not add) the £2 the bellboy stole that make £25.... £30 - £5 = £25 (not £30) duh!

Well to the best of their knowledge the room cost £27(£25 with d hotel and £2 wit d boy) they contributed £9 each wil add up £27 plus £1 they each had as refund amounting to £30. Cant see where £1 is missing here.
