Good evening N landers,

Pls I need urgent suggestions/advice from Nairalanders on an issue.

A younger cousin of mine works with a microfinance bank, so last week her dad called her and told her to send the correspondent bank account number of the Microfinance Bank that he would like to be paid by a company that he is working for on a contract via the bank.

So she sent that of first bank to him and he forwarded the number to the company not knowing that a figure of the account number was not correct.

When the company initiated the transfer, the account name did not tally but it still went ahead to transfer the money, loro kan sha, they transfered the money to a wrong person.

A complain was lodged with the company which later contacted their bank to request for a reversal of the money.

The issue now is that officials at first bank are saying that cases like this takes time to be resolved, they actually said there's a similar case that is 3months old and unresolved and the man needs this sum urgently to pay for workmanship of labourers and suppliers.

Pls people if there's any other way this can be quickly fixed for the sake of the poor girl as she's the very emotional type and she's not finding the house funny.

We will appreciate any help at all. It's a bit of a huge sum

Involve the language of court, CPC, and don't ever tell police because they will complicate issues and even connive with the bank to swallow the cash.
