I am a bloody rookie on this, although i have been following this thread for some months now. I plan to apply for PR, and just did my IELTS sha and dey await result, got BSc and about 5 working yrs. I am considering working with an agent to handle the process for me, I hope this is okay. I have not confirmed this to him (the agent) yet but he told me what i would need and his terms. He seem real and trustworthy, my research on him so far suggests no red flags. Is there anything i can do now while i await the IELTS result to fast track the visa process, i learnt it takes a few months at times before i get the visa. I would want to have the visa on or before Nov. 31 abeg.
I would really appreciate if the gurus and experienced peeps here can advise appropriately.

The agent does not have any control over the process. The pace is at the discretion of border control personnel.

Your November deadline is not realistic. When you set a target, set realistic goal. Have you done your skills assessment?

Things seems to be going fine though I don't won't to be forward yet....I wrote DIBP the intended love letter about the mistake I made, said they are not bogus claims and were made out of ignorance.....they replied; they thanked me for my mail and said it been noted in my application, four days later, my CO contacted me asking for all my docs (hadn't been able to upload them) including medicals and police certs....am filling form 80 and 1221 and wil go for medicals next week....So,all seems cool

Why are you struggling for a student visa when you're ripe for PRV? I still don't understand. If ur work experience is 8years or above, just use ur IELTS result if it doesn't have any band less than 6 (competent) and do ur skills assessment. 70 points only makes ur invitation to apply for a visa quicker...Oh does it mean u have trf of academic and ur assessing authority wants that of general training?

Yes,I have been assigned a CO (four days after they had replied my mail to them) and he has also contacted me asking for my docs,and forms.On the checklist of what to provide is PCC n medical exam. He even attached the emedical referral letters.I will send the docs as email attachments ,no need of uploading again. I said I don't want to be forward because I don't understand what 'thank you for your mail and its been noted in your application' means! It may not mean I have been forgiven!!!!

These are two separate things. Your student visa does affect your PR application. You could actually do the two side by side. I guess is because of your assessment that you intend to try English test again otherwise you do not need it since you have already got the required point.

Upload all the required documents and send whatever you can send. It really means God has answered your prayers whatelse are you waiting for? It is now yours to take it.

There is nothing extra ordinary your agent could do to fast-track your visa processing. Visa could take several months even years. Have you done your assessment? That's where you need to start from. Assessment sometimes could take months depending on your assessing authority.
Check your occupation and check with your assessing authority. Also you need to check if you could gather the required points.

Yes, it was full time and the employment letter sent via e-mail. Visa was processed for me,ticket purchased and hotel accommodation reserved for me for 1 week.

right now it the assessment that is the issue now.
If I assess my wife's bsc in economics with her 2.5 years experience and her ielts General (6) I do not know if she can add 5 points to mine. I want to get all the points I can.
she may have to 're do the test with me.

What can you advise on how to get 5 points from her.

All right, that sounds good. Sincerely, you do not need to stress her to get assessed which would probably take her like 12weeks (3months) before it would be done just for 5 points. You are not desperate of points hence 60points is just enough for you. You will definitely be invited. If you have the money to play with, you can do that. But trust me, you don't really need points from her.

I don't know why he needs more points...he should do the IELTS GT instead and score 7-all bands or 6-all bands and do his skills assessment. With his PRV, there could be lesser tuition fees for his studies.

You didn't do wrong so long as ur remaining points is 60. I think u may have wrongly bloated it by 5 points. May be the thing they are forgiving u is as ur invite came earlier based on ur assumed points.

I have seen where u were asking if NYSC experience will sail and u said u have got 7 years of work experience. Please if u can't prove an 8year or above experience, do IELTS GT and target 7 or above and let ur madam do as well if her assessing authority does not do without any English test. Some authorities do skills assessment without any IELTS or English test and u get ur 5points via this action. Please be realistic and don't waste cash on student route. My opinion though! Please don't take my ideas personally.

Thanks for your comments. I have 7 YEARS and 2 months post NYSC experience as at now. I also have over 15 months experience before and during my service year ( it was not service as I arranged my absence from primary assignment in borno and came back to Lagos to work. I was employed as a senior accounts clerk with my ICAN AAT and Pass PE 3. So I can get the required months to complete my experience 8 years .
however, I can only get my employment letter and a reference letter from the company and copies of register of cash payment as evidence.

So I really believe this will suffice. What do you think.

My wife will be assessed by Vetassess. If I need to get 5 points .

But the position still remains that I need to write another English or opt for 489 where I will accumulate 70points cos of the 10points for regional nomination.

I wonder if I can be briefed on 489 and the requirements to convert to PR.

@Bellond, fine Sir. Just decide to hail you. It's been long. I have sent my application, I luckily made a friend @ *******. She advised that they have seen several cases like mine, that DIBP don't hold Visa applications more than the specific period, instead they will grant it and put a later date (3months to resumption). I do not understand you. In one page you said you have 60points as it stand, what do you need 489 for?

I will do it this August . But will do PTE academics again
