Cough greater than 3 months is significant and worrisome. Have you lost weight? Any loss of Appetite? Fever? Does the cough bring out anything...mucus, blood or saliva? Any chest pain?. Have you noticed any swelling anywhere in your body? Any History of Night Sweat even when fan is on.
If you can answer the questions then that would help. Good luck?

A cough that has lasted more than 2 weeks should be treated professionally. As Nigerians, we all know to self medicate but at this point, you need to see a doctor.

How do you sleep at night? From experience, coughs are more severe at night and won't allow one sleep. Does this cough come with other symptoms? Does it affect your breathing? Do you cough out any phlegm?

Tomorrow, please go to the hospital. They will need to culture your phlegm or mucus as you call it and give you medication that will get you back.

Sorry
