Salty?

At all o.

Nobody doubted that Jose has spent, but numbers without context are just numbers.

It's 2004, You arrived at a club who last won a league title in 1954. You want to compete for the title with a club that has been winning almost every year non-stop since 1992, under a manager that had broken the British transfer records at least thrice in under a decade.

What does A40 do?

It's 2010, You arrived at a club that last won a league title 4 years ago, in a league dominated by the best team and players in the world, managed by one of the best coaches in football at the time.

Your club had not even defeated your nearest rivals in a league game for over 4 years, and these same rivals have won the league 5 times in the last 7 years.

What does A40 do?

Gracias. Hehehe

You succeeded in nailing it with those rhetorical yet practical questions. It's easy for people to count figures and screenshot JM's transfers, very easy.

What they fail to count are the events that led to such transfers.

Not just at SW6, Mou's first season at Inter was also a rebuilding phase. He had at his disposal an aging squad and he needed to spend. That is unlike what Citeh and Manyoo are doing.

We've adopted an understated approach, and haven't spent any more than £32m on a player since 2011. Jose on his side has gone relatively frugal in the market too, refusing to spend big b'cos he believes he has a strong team.

The man is doing something right now and his rivals are dancing to his old tune in a strange manner, tell me why he shouldn't open a huge can of worms.

If these manchi them dey get otalgia for Jose matter, make them try use eardrop. Nonsense cheesy

Drogba moves to Montreal

On the day the Chelsea squad completed
their final training session at Montreal
Impact’s new training facility, our former
striker Didier Drogba has joined the Canadian club.

Drogba, whose second spell at Stamford
Bridge ended in glorious fashion in May
with a fourth Premier League title added
to 11 other trophy wins, has chosen the MLS for the next stage of his career.

The 37-year-old will therefore come into
contest on the North American stage with
former team-mate Frank Lampard,
although it remains to be seen whether
the two will make their debuts for their
latest clubs when Montreal Impact play
away at New York City on Saturday.
Lampard has been unavailable with an
injury.
Impact play their home games at Saputo
Stadium in the shadow of Montreal’s
Olympic Stadium. The French-speaking city
held the Games there in 1976.

A quarter-of-an-hour’s walk south next to
the river is Parc Champetre, the training
ground that has hosted Jose Mourinho
and his players for the past week-and-a-
half. The changing rooms are housed in a
grand, converted fire station.
Impact are currently sixth in the 10-team
Eastern Conference of the MLS, level on
points with New York City.

Loic Remy looks like a man with no confidence issues whatsoever. You can bench him the whole season and he still comes on with a carefree attititude knowing he would score. That is the perfect profile for a back-up striker. Years of struggling with injuries at Marseille has conditioned his mind not to rely on regular football to play his best.

He has also shown outstanding loyalty to Chelsea and JM - the man is ready to fight for his place regardless of who is brought in to relegate him in the pecking order. The reason for this loyalty can be traced back to last summer when Liverpool almost wrecked his career. On the brink of signing for Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers (having been alerted to the prospect of signing Balotelli "on the cheap"), announced to the world that Remy had a hole in his heart - an announcement that has a negative bearing on a players career prospects, earning potential etc. JM corrected this narrative when signing Remy by telling the press that "Remy has a problem in life, but he does not have a problem to play football". I suspect this singular act of JM engendered a fierce loyalty from Remy which continues, even with the signing of Falcao. Just another example of JMs greatest skill - Man management.

Yeah like his predecessor,(Raineri) didn't spend a truck load of Russian money before mourinho arrived at Chelsea.
My point is he already had a great team acting like his squad was full of beer drinkers won't fly.
Which inter is rebuilding they? They were the undisputed champions of the Serie A for like Three straight season before Mourinho arrived.
And I like how we all are pretending that his time at Madrid doesn't matter.

^^^ it's funny how u brought up his stay in madrid. Pls try and compare his spending there to his immediate successor and predecessor to put things in perspective.

Before Mourinho got to Chelsea, they already had Makelele, Crespo, Terry, Lampard, Mutu, Gallas and Duff so it wasnt like he met an empty house.

Well said about Inter and Madrid

Pellegrini accused Mourinho of "taking the credit for everything" last month, which has drawn a withering response from the Portuguese.
Mourinho said: "If other guys use holiday time also for interviews, its their problem. I am always thinking about football but in my holidays I did zero interviews. You are free of everything, questions, answers, controversy, interpretation, overreaction.
"Is he obsessed with me? I dont know. When a manager is on holidays and still thinks about me, I have nothing to say."

Wetin dey do Melo .. abi na just normal rumor ?

According to Italian publication Sport Mediaset, the former Brazil international is set to undergo a medical at Inter Milan 'within 48 hours'.

The Serie A giants have reportedly agreed a £2.2million fee for the experienced midfielder, despite Gala's initial £7.1m asking price.

The 32-year-old revealed earlier in the year that he was keen on a move to Premier League champions Chelsea.

"I am a warrior, the English like that," the former Juventus man said. "I love Chelsea because I'm a big fan of Jose Mourinho."

No he is not whining. He is passing a message. A message to the media who do selective reporting. When we did it, we were buying the title. They are doing it now, "they are investing". Some even say "they are trying to close the gap to Chelsea" . .

WTF did they think we were doing in '04?
Still doesn't remove the fact that in 12-13 years of management he has outspent his closest rivals by a significant sum, some of them in top level management 5-10 years before him. Even if we use today's inflated market as a factor it still raises eyebrows cos Mourinho be doing the most.

Nihilist:

Jose has always been the underdog trying to break into a closed shop.

That's all his statement implies. Nothing more, Nothing less.
Which makes these statements about buying titles sound awfully rich coming from him. Is he feeling the heat already? Trying to conjure a ready made alibi in case of failure?

It's Jose's clever man management skills biko. Succinctly stated by Ibime with that beautiful piece. If Jose managed a rival team, he will tell the world Hazard is about as good as Walcott. But as the Chelsea Manager, Jose's using the platform to remind Hazard he can be anything he wants to be.

Lol, like sailor rightly pointed out, if our final third could look like this

Mata-- herrera-- depay

------- rooney -------

I see no reason why teams wouldn't be scared of us

To be frank, we all knew what to expect from Schweinsteiger, he's old.. he was bought to add experience to the team and best believe he will, he's not always going to start but a glimpse of his old self will surely be seen and that is a good thing for us
