The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the spokesman for the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Olisa Metuh, is in need of some form of coaching to perform his new role as spokesman for opposition party. In a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos by the National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Lai Muhammed, the party noted that Metuh did not perform the role expected of him. The party, which reacted to an earlier statement released by the PDP spokesperson, said he (Metuh) was fond of issuing unnecessary statements so that he could be in the news. “The statement is the most tortuous yet by the PDP and, honestly, sounds more like a compendium of beer parlour gossips and side talks than a serious criticism of a sitting government,’’ the APC said in the statement. The party said, “to be in opposition does not mean you have to constitute yourself to a nuisance by rushing to the press with all sorts of hot air statements. It is the quality, rather than the frequency, of your interventions that makes you relevant as an opposition in a democracy. “We can only say that we have been justified, and indeed prescient, in our earlier offer to organize a crash course for Olisa Metuh so that he can more effectively perform his role as the spokesman of the main opposition party. “Those who thought we were joking with that offer can now see that indeed, Mr. Metuh is seriously in need of some form of coaching on his new role,” APC said. The party said for the record, no government in Nigeria’s recent history has been as focused and systematic as the one headed by President Muhammadu Buhari in restoring good governance, especially coming after the worst stretch of governance, by what it called “the immoral and reckless PDP”. “President Buhari is working hard every day in the priority areas of tackling security and corruption, rebooting the economy to provide jobs for our teeming youths and generally to restore good governance. Metuh to me is a baby joker, I always laugh at everything he said. His criticism is so local, too direct and predictable. He is a party to the failure of PDP. Everybody could see that Lai Mohammed doesn't reply his antics cos he is no force to reckon with, hence he said Lai has been quite lately cos he is confused between serving Baba or Tinubu. How could he be asking APC why Dame wasn't allowed into VIP section at the airport? Does he have a short memory or does he not have memory at all? Cos all his criticism seems to be coming from one that best fit into one of the above. That crash course suggestion though, seems to be an upper cut. 4 Likes |

PDP must be dreaming to ever think that Nigerians will listen to their noise making after pauperizing them for 16 inglorious years. Is there anything on earth that PDP will ever accuse APC guilty of, that they (PDP) did not do in ten manifolds? The incontrovertible fact that APC led by PMB CAN NEVER be as reckless/wasteful with our resources, as unconcerned with our sufferings, and as lawless with our constitution/laws; should be enough for PDP to lose ANY HOPE of returning as a national ruling party in Nigeria.
