Its probably due to the much speculated US dollar interest rates hike. The same thing also happened to the Kenyan shilling. But all in all the only way to improve the strength of our naira would be to ditch this minute by minute short term tactics and tighten our belt for a long term strategy that will encompass industrial policies aimed at improving and increasing infant industries so as to raise our productive capacity. Anything other than that will have our economy left to the wits of speculators and hedgers
