Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade

An unnamed member of the household of the Ife monarchy has revealed that the royal family of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, has moved out of the palace, as the corpse of the late King has been taken to Ilegbo, the place where his coronation took place, for the preliminary rites of passage, before a formal announcement will be made.
The unnamed source revealed, “the body arrived the place and was received by members of Isoro Cult early this week. The body is being preserved through traditional means. All the rites will be done while the body is kept there. But don’t expect formal announcement of his death in next two weeks.
“It may take months depending on how fast the Isoro members are able to conclude the necessary rites. The body is there as I speak to you but non-Isoro member cannot see it. Even his family members can no longer see him”
Further speaking on the importance of performing the preliminary rites of passage before making a formal announcement of the death of the Ooni of Ife, the source disclosed, “his journey to the throne started from that place called Ilegbo. That is where he was installed Ooni. That is also the place anyone that will succeed him will be installed. Ilegbo, is located within Ile Oodua, as Ooni’s palace is called.”

Something I find "baffling" is the fact that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade is yet to be pronounced dead and yet arrangements are been made for the supposed burial

Sounds like the people of Ife are gonna be staying a long time before having a "NEW KING" occupy the throne of the Ooni of Ife
