We all know we had our first haircut right around or even before our first birthday and this practise seem to have been around for generations especially in this part of the world. The westerners also carry out this practise but for them it is out of choice whereas it feels as though it is compulsory here.

Is there any physical,medical or spiritual implication of not cutting the baby's first hair?

I think it's to allow the hair grow evenly. Like the way ladies cut their hair too when there are severe problems, like chopped off or no front hair at all...
