Excellent writeup.

However, I take reservations to the name "Mafia". That name and "Church" should not be used in the same sentence. Thanks.
My tots exactly...

Op you should reconsider d name. I think you should just start an NGO and try to do all the lofy things you propose thru it. I believe every religion brainwashes its members one way or the other. You will av more appeal if you leave Chritainity n oda religion out of it.
Gullible people will become wise when they start to think...you may not be able to make them wise. Experience is d best teacher.

We want to create a win-win situation with the people first in the picture, the church will get richer, and so will her members. Most times selfishness denies us of even larger benefits.

What if Microsoft, Apple and the like just decided to build computers programs for their company use, I mean use their computers to compute data for the government and large corporations.

They thought of getting it across to everybody and in turn, the are bettered off for it.

Even God is a business man, everybody and everything seeks growth, but the principle of getting is giving, having the world at heart.

The Mafia Church will build Private Jets, but before then, every member can be afford to buy private jets (Not Literally what I mean). It's the people first, then a win-win scenerio
When you inaugurate "your" church where all these would be implemented don't fail to publish the address here, you have a convert here. grin

They won't do all these things...... instead offerings will be used to buy and install ACs' in the church....

Thanks for going through the write-up.
1. The Church was once the government and government as it is, is the people (by the definition of democracy),
The government of the people is a democracy and the church throughout its history has never been Democratic rather the church laid the blueprint for the most fiercest autocracy the world has ever witnessed, The church is ruled by a few selected Scammers, very much alienated from the masses and its RULES IMPOSED on the masses, if you ever disagree with the churches doctrine you are a HERETIC whether you are right or wrong, If you ever worship in any other way not sanctioned by the Church you are a HEATHEN whether you do good or bad, If you ever provide a more logical analysis of a previously deemed supernatural phenomena or were able to replicate such phenomena either through your knowledge of science or other disciplines then you are an Occultist, The history of the church, the character of the church, the composition of the church clearly suggest that Democracy is an anathema to the Church and autocracy is its natural stance.
have you heard when the government instead of doing her fundamental obligations tells the masses to pray?, we are coming to that, we want to solve the problem from the root, as someone said, "religion is the opium of the masses", that's why in my opening speech I said, the church has helped keep the world sane by soothing our wounds, think of countless revolutions that would have happened, but the failure of the government is always encapsulated by the matra, "let us pray for a better future".
The Church as a parasitic system has always worked hand in hand with corrupt, destructive, exploitative, lazy and visionless governments, One once said that colonization of indigenous peoples would not have been possible without the church, because the church is the left hand of the vandal, it suppresses the human natural instinct of ADAPTATION by gradually brainwashing it's hosts and thereby incapacitating them of the natural human ability to secure it's possession and protest injustice, the rightful aggression that should be directed at the THIEF which is the government is suppressed or misdirected to some unseen being which should have done justice for US the poor masses but never actually does anything at all, or in some cases the judgment is postponed indefinitely and left for some God to do on the last day while each generation is wronged, stolen from, killed, dehimanized and left vulnerable waiting for the Churches God to act which it never does meanwhile the looters continues looting and keep feeding the church.
A rat tunnel has so many escape way, you block some, smoke the others and lay siege in the rest.
If we tackle the church and it delivers on the above, the government will have no excuse.
The above statement becomes totally baseless once one can;after sustained thought understand that instead of the Church it is we the people who are are the Rat. Who do you run to when you can't find a job ? Pastor!!
who do you run to when you get sacked from you job and you can't find a new one and everything is falling apart ? Pastor!!
who do you run to when you are sick and the dilapidated hospitals can't provide the necessary services and the ones that can is probably too expensive for you to afford ? Pastor!!
Who do you run to when terrorists are bombing you day and night and the government can't seen ti know what it's doing ? Pastor!!
who do you run to when there is epidemic and people are dying left, right and center ? Pastor.
when this useless country bleeps your life up so bad you start thinking of suicide as a way out who do you run to ?Pastor!!
Government makes it bad so that the Church will have you in their palms. Government steals from you, you run to the church like a rat and they steal the rest from you and also keep you from retaliating on the government. Government has money, Pastor has Money, How much do you have huh
They are still in-charge of security, infrastructure and remember in Micro-finance, the apex bank (backed by government) will key in.
If the government is the people(you and me) why do you use the word "THEY are still…" the simple truth is they are in charge of everything, including You,your destiny(which they will Bleep up) and most importantly they are still in charge of "not being in charge" so expect nothing from nobody.

2. We want to change that, when you have people who can ask "why" without fear of roasting, then the beginning of the end is near. Information doubles every 18 months, we are sowing the seed now, people are getting enlightened, just like you, people will start asking questions and soon, change or revolution will take place. It's starts with information.
Now one will definitely like to know, Are you trying to CHANGE THE CHURCH or having the CHURCH CHANGE THE WORLD(with you included). If you are trying to change the church then lets change the church, if you are trying to change the world then we are behind you if you tell us your solutions, if you are trying to change the church in order to change the world then i really don't see the need for this debate.
3. I think I've answered this in one above "Religion is the Opium of the masses", it has really helped.
No missionary religion has ever helped mankind rather it is the spring from which the myriad of man's misery has sprung forth and with it has kept multiplying.
One question you have to answer is this:
How many of these known Churches has ever openly criticized the evil destructive policies of the government, how many has fought for it, stood their ground and be persecuted for it. How many has ever rejected a government official in their church because he is a looter of state money ?
These are fundamental questions from which any thought about CHANGE with the CHURCH as its medium must first answer.

We are in the same page, if you understand what this letter means, it's just a satire, from the response its obvious the church may not implement the content of this letter. The letter is just an open disclaimer, (don't middle in our affairs, if you can't do these, let those who can be).

The name The Mafia Church is also a satire, I could have chosen any fancy word, but on a second thought, I stuck to this, I know I will loose sponsorship from several quarters because of this, no problem, who want sponsors that will hijack your program, I know I will loose membership because of the name, no problem, who want members who can't filter the truth.
All the same we are doing the the content of this letter irrespective of whose ox is gored, it may take more years, it may take more resources, but at the end, we will make the necessary impact.

The strategy has been mapped out, you can always visit our website to see where we are headed www.themafiachurch.com

Thanks and have a wonderful day ahead.

A summarized version is 11 post down, for the faint at reading grin

All the Churches
In The World

Dear Church,

HOW THE CHURCH CAN MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL

“To whom much is given, much is required”, you (The Church) have influence over 32% of the world population, this letter seeks to point out how you can make the world a better place while you still can.

Yes you’ve done a wonderful work over the past millennium in keeping the world sane and conscious of the afterlife.

You can do more and this letter does not connote failure on your part, at least one doesn’t fail until they’ve started.

Below are ways we brainstormed the church can help the world become a better place for all.

SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM

Do you have a database of your church members?

If you do, good, otherwise, you need to, it’s just one sermon away, anyway.

There is a technology that can allow you digitize this database and create an application for accessing it on phones and systems, trust me it won’t cost much.

If you get the above well, your members can then download your mobile and desktop applications and can use it to verify other members before doing any business with them. Since each member has an ID, inputting a members ID in the application will display his/her basic information.

This application should also have a rating system, so if a member defrauds another, the aggrieved party could rate him/her down and such bad rating will appear whenever his/her ID is checked on the application.

Only the Church council can change the rating after hearing from both parties.

I know you are concerned about people switching denominations, well there is a thing called biometrics, I recommend this, and a neutral body or a government agency can regulate the database synchronization across all denomination. This way a new member can be scanned across all the database and if he/she has an existing account in another denomination, he/she can be ported to the new denomination retaining the rating system. This will take less than 1 minute to do, just ask the congregation to pray for the new member while you take his biometrics and port him to the new church.

You can add more style to this and maybe make the application interactive.

This system will cost less than one million naira, for a church of 1 million members, you can employ some good IT heads to do this.

The benefit of this database is enormous, it will foster trust and checkmate fraud and other vices.

This technology will also play an important role in the next four ways the church could create a better world.

JOB CREATION AND POVERTY ERADICATION

With the above technology in place, trust is rebuilt, now the church can go into Microfinance without fear, it costs a little above 20 million naira to start a unit microfinance bank, 100 million for a state and 2 billion naira at the national level, that’s too small when compared to the cost of a private jet.

Since most of the unemployed people always complain of lack of startup capital for business, this is an opportunity to empower them, yes a microfinance bank can literarily collect money from the central bank and give to her customers as loan, in this case, your church members.

But we don’t advocate just dolling out cash to every tom and his brother.

Here is what to do, since you can host forty days fasting and prayer, this will be easy, organize a 60 days free training for would be loan beneficiaries, get finance professionals who work the talk to teach them the following

Basic Finance and Accounting Principles
Money management
Investing and Stocks
Business Prospecting
Loan Repayment
Simple and Compound Interest, taxes and levies
Business ethics, Job Creation
21st Century business module
Internet Marketing
Religion and Business, the difference

Let them take an exam after the training, successful candidates can then be empowered financially based on their capacities, you can customize these to suite your congregation.

Use the application as described above to monitor their performance and rate them accordingly.

Now think of what the above would mean, at least the angel of financial breakthrough can take a rest and watch the church help herself.

If properly coordinated, this will trigger a new zest for entrepreneurship and hence job creation and employment. We can do this, can’t we?

HUMAN CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT

Instead of building bogus universities the average tithe payer can’t afford to study in or send their wards to, why not at least build a tuition free, self-running skill acquisition center.

Dear reader, stop for a second and look around you, if you are at home, look around, if you are in public, just look around, how many things can you count that is made in your country?

Where was your shoe made? How about your pants (trouser) and shirts? How about the cosmetics?

The church can build vocational centers for school leavers (They have up to six months before leaving for college)

The vocational center should offer a tuition free on the job training, they can even earn on the job, not just some two days seminar they don’t have hands on.

Build for example a small cosmetic company designed as a training facility but have the capacity to produce usable products (It’s easier to sell, trust church marketing).

School leavers can then join and be well trained theoretically and practically on cosmetology.

Do likewise for ICT, build an ICT institute, they can program applications, build websites, install gadgets for companies and individuals to support the running of the institute and sustain it’s free tuition programs.

The same goes for other vocations, clothing and other fashion, electronics, mechatronics, music and video production.

Graduates of this vocational center can be given loan as in (two) above to startup and their products can be sold through the church platform as in (one) above.

This way most university freshers have a test of their chosen career and can make a side income to support their education.

Think of it, that runs girl/boy (prostitute, exam machinery) in school could have been a graphics designer, just working on his/her laptop an hour a day as a freelance graphics designer could cater for his or her upkeep.

The church can also integrate entrepreneurship and social skills into the courses offered in these vocational centers, while the entrepreneurship skill will shape them into better self-employed business owners, the social skill will inculcate in them, dignity of labor and the ability to fit in as full functional members of the society.

Now this is what we call human capacity building.

QUALITY OF LIFE

This is very easy, in fact, it’s just one sermon away. It’s just about telling your members the core truth about life.

We live this life but once, nobody will live twice, why then should we live life in outdated templates.

The average person grows up in a family, goes to school, gets a job, marries, have kids and starts raising them.

There are over 7.3 billion people in the world today, do we need more? In the next decade transistors will replace over 50% of the jobs done by humans, if it is hard for an average citizen to get a job now, how then will it be for their kids decades from now.

For a beverage company to produce beverages, there is a mixture of concentrate, syrup and water, the mixer combines them in appropriate ratio to produce a tasty beverage.

What happens when there is short supply of concentrate and syrup, simple logic dictates that you reduce the quantity of water.

The world is like a beverage, resources are the concentrate, technology and process the syrup and humans, water, why can’t we do the needful.

I know this will be hard on the church, but having kids is not logically necessary and so does marriage.

If one can’t take care of himself (treat his/herself to the quality of life he desires) why should he/she invite another to share the inappropriate experience and worse still bringing in an innocent being to bear the brunt.

Bachelors and spinsters can use the opportunity to see the world, have those experience they hitherto only see in movies, do things they love, live life to its fullest and in turn contribute to the society.

Some people in their late 20s have not travelled out of their state of origin.

There are people who can’t take out 20 minutes to exercise because they are tied down by mad pursuit of wealth so they can “settle down” and take on the next burden of family hood.

If this sermon is preached in every church crime will drastically reduce across the globe.

Tell people to live life, those who live from office to church then home and back should take a break, go have some vacations.

Tell them Life is Beautiful, they shouldn’t live its shadows.

Another thing the church can put in place to increase the quality of life is insurance, Medical, Life and Legal insurance.

The church can do this, just a sermon away too, educate members on its importance, create a department to oversee it and with the aid of the database and application in (one) above, members can contribute and access Medical and Legal aid and be insure for Life, just one click away.

Think of the quality of life members will live if they know they can access a lawyer, a doctor or a life insurance a few buttons away.

This is achievable.

TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT

I don’t have to dwell much on this, if the church can do the above, then she has positioned herself as a major stakeholder in the technologies of the future.

The church can build research institutions, fund projects and invest in budding technologies to foster an advanced technological society.

If for any reason the church cannot fulfil any of the above, you can be rest assured that you are covered, The Mafia Church is an unusual church and or you
ever think about going on lecture tour of churches
I also think that churches should build industrial parks instead of universities

Times have changed, when the churches would stand up against the corruption the world had changed across our nations, I remember the times, the church would stand fern with the word of God, movies the music and any sexual scenes, were brought before the Church..
The Church was against Homosexuality and marriages that didn't line up with the word of God. Our schools were taught the truth about Christ.
Saturday the Sabbath and Sunday the Catholic Church had changed was a day of worship, and a day to spend with our love ones.
These days have gone..

You don't understand the role of the Church. The Church is not meant to make the world a better place rather she is meant to make mankind knows this world is not our home. Things will get worse and worse. The Church is meant to lead people to the Kingdom of peace that is coming.
U just missed it

The Church would be a better place, if people studied the truth about the Word of God, not some other doctrine that leads to the Word faith movement.
The Church would be a better place, if people came to the Lord for the right reasons-not because of the health and wealth doctrine.
The Church would be a better place, if religion didn't get in the way of the truth.
The Church would be a better place, if people believed.
