The next ooni of Ife is a small king from a very small village from Ife South local government, the town is along ife-ondo road and he is very pro APC.

George is very Right!!!! The King, anyone @ all, of Ile-Ife is the costodian of Yoruba Faith, Hope, Peace and Love. The King is the Real Appointed "ORISA"(god) of Olorun(God) for YORUBA LAND. So the King Makers should courageously, confidently and committingly consult the sw council of Obas to assist them to select a worthy replacement. The Governor only gives the staff of office but does not participate in the selction of the Oba(King). Politicians, please be warned. Attempting to influence the selection of a new Oba of Ile Ife should be No-go area. May the Spirit of the Righteousness of God Almighty guide and protect the King-Makers.

When is Bode George going on exile ? I thought he said he will go on exile if Buhari win, now Buhari is the sitting president, no wonder George (PDP) is not man enough, they don't keep to their words just like Doyin Okupe that is bastard for Buhari winning the election.
Aregbesola will surely accept the kingmakers choice the only issue the kingmakers should forward competent and God fearing person to the Governor for approval.
Wonderful!... And Buhari is busy fighting Jonathan's administration for over 2months now.

I thought TEWONDE George said he would leave Nigeria if Jonathan lost, why is he still here? Thank goodness Jonathan didn't succeed pardoning him. The name, "ex-convict" will stick.

Atona in Yoruba means the one who gives direction.

Bode George taking on that kind of title poses a lot of questions! But he should live up to it.

An 'atona' should actually not be meddling too much in politics.

But,in real sense I don't think traditional rulers should belong to any political party because belonging to a party help in deteriorating things that has to do with politics in a particular state.

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, has warned the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, against manipulating the emergence of the next Ooni of Ife.

George said Tinubu should have learnt from the recent National Assembly crisis that undue interference in the affairs of established institutions could spell doom.

He said, “He will be making attempts to manipulate the process. They will do politics with it but it will blow up. They should allow the kingmakers to do their work. If he manipulates the process, he will create a huge problem in Yoruba land.

“He (Tinubu) tried it at the National Assembly but came back with a slap. He should, therefore, not go out of his way to bring in an APC-inclined man as the next Ooni.

Tinubu is obviously a nightmare to this Bode George. He should shut up and let the Chiefs follow the due process. Crying after Tinubu to gain relevance in the media is a big joke in his part.
Bode George is a joker using style to beg tinubu...these days he uses tinubu to stay in the news.....ooni's office is a very high political office in the yoruba kingdom and whosoever wears that crown is going to call the shots in the traditional/rural yoruba kingdom...if i were tinubu i will also influence it and if bode george also has the opportunity he will influence it...knowing fully well that the final approval for the crown still lies with the governor...(ogbeni aregbe)...and we all know agrebe is a tinubu stooge....
Jagaban is winning some people are crying.
tinubu is a terrible dream to bode george, Pdp and the online waliers.
they just hate to admit he is the boss....

A former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, has warned the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, against manipulating the emergence of the next Ooni of Ife.

Following the passage of Oba Okunade Sijuwade, ruling houses in Ife, Osun State, will meet as part of the process of picking a new monarch.

However, George, who is the Atona Oodua of Yoruba land, told our correspondent during an interview, on Monday, that Tinubu should not use his relationship with the Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, to manipulate the process.

“Let him allow the kingmakers do their job. He should not set Yoruba land on fire. Aregbesola should, instead, focus on paying salaries.”

Ife is considered to be a stronghold of the PDP in Osun State.

When asked to react to the late Ooni’s closeness to former President Goodluck Jonathan, George said it had nothing to do with the process of the emergence of a king which is a sacred process.

George said the politics of Ife was not like that of Lagos and Tinubu should not set a bad precedence in Yoruba land.

“He (Tinubu) tried it at the National Assembly but came back with a slap. He should, therefore, not go out of his way to bring in an APC-inclined man as the next Ooni. We want an Ooni that will be fair and not connected with all these politicians.

“We need an experienced person. We want the person that the kingmakers will approve of. As the Atona Oodua, I know how these things are done.”

George urged President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that the South-East produced the next Secretary to the Federal Government.

The PDP leader said doing otherwise would make the people of the geopolitical zone feel left out.

However, Tinubu’s spokesperson, Mr. Sunday Dare could not be reached for comment.

Haba! So Tinubu has become this man's nemesis. Am sure if they serve him man food and their is no salt in it, he will accuse Tinubu of foul play.
Bode George should just accept reality. He has his vision Tinubu has his own, the only difference is that one is taller than the other. His wife became the chairman of NDLEA, Tinubu's wife become senator. He joined a party, Tinubu created a party.
Your political target was Lagos state, Tinubu was targeting south west and then Nigeria. You were fighting small boy Obanikoro, Tinubu had to fight the Ota gorilla. It's all about vision Mr. Bode George. Just accept the reality and be at peace with yourself.

Just like kwankwaso approve sanusi to be emir after meeting with the kingsmen that is the same way tinubu will make the next ooni.
he has done it before with Akinolu and the next ooni will not be different.

Do you prefer James Ibori who is in Oyibo prison with his wife, sister, mistress (another man's wife) and lawyer all for stealing public fund? Or DSP Alams that turned to a woman to escape from London cell? Or Goatluck Jona-daft who knows that stealing is not corruption but has sneaked to Aso Rock to beg Buhari not to send him (Goatluck) to jail as earlier prophesied by Mama Piss. Or Deizaini Alisson-Maduekwe who developed cancer after Goatluck loss the last election due to the billions due stole? Or former CSO to Jona-daft who recently returned 1.5 billion naira to the nation's account out of the several billions he stole under Jona-daft?
God will bless you for no reason

I thought Bode George promised to leave Nigeria when Buhari wins. He should please keep his promise and leave Ooni's successor to those who have chosen to remain in Nigeria.

If Bode George thinks National assembly matter is settled ...he will be shocked sooner than later.
