Most nigerians are hypocrites, u just read that she has always been nice to the kids, treating them as if they were her kids and all of a sudden cos she disciplined the child which is common in most African homes u just want to send her to the gallows, for crying out loud, most of us still discipline (flog) our kids and younger ones and imagine the cane mistakenly enters the person's eye, does that make u a bad or evil person?

I was shocked to meet well behaved children in Britain who had never been flogged. It is a myth that you need to flog children to correct them.

The bible says , spare the rod and spoil the child.

The rod used there is the type used to guide sheep and you know how humble they are. The rod simply means discipline and guidance.

For example, in Psalms 23, it says quoting King James version, "Your rod and staff they comfort me"

If the rod was a cruel instrument, can it be comforting? Food for thought

You don't hit children that are not yours. You discipline them through other means. This is why most schools are now stopping flogging. Children are not animals.
