Lol...I am sure you don't mean this becos you don't sound like someone who would give up on her kids.

Well, I am like that unfortunately. I easily give up on things I can't easily change. I will try and do my best, if it doesn't work, I concentrate on my own life and death.

Unfortunately I am like that too,but am working very hard on that... But I believe when it comes to our loved ones we should do all we can. But am sure ur gonna be a good mum if ur not one already...

that's what happens when you do something in anger and haste and without getting the child into the proper position to receive correction.

Most nigerians are hypocrites, u just read that she has always been nice to the kids, treating them as if they were her kids and all of a sudden cos she disciplined the child which is common in most African homes u just want to send her to the gallows, for crying out loud, most of us still discipline (flog) our kids and younger ones and imagine the cane mistakenly enters the person's eye, does that make u a bad or evil person?

[color=Blue]For a cane to "mistakenly" strike the boy's eye, this woman must have been flogging him randomly, striking his face. If he was flogged in his palm or buttocks, his eye wouldn't have been struck.

This woman WAS out of control with rage whilst flogging the boy, and that is a major concern. Yes, sone of us were flogged as kids (I'm a late 1960's guy). I don't expect anyone to be flogging a child in this day and age. My kids are well behaved, and it did NOT take a cane or whip to instill discipline in them. Any human who flogs my children may end up maimed, or worse.

If you're making excuses to justify this woman's actions, then you must be out of your mind.[/color]
