One state I am personally impressed with is Benue state.... like woow
They really deserve that name, "The bread basket of the nation" . The state consistently features on the top producing states of most of the agricultural commodities in Nigeria. Kudos to the people of Benue.

you are talking as if the resource control will only have an adverse effect on other regions,,, the only region it will benefit are the oil rich states and state that have high IGR capacity.. Don't make it look as if the east will be at a great advantage if the approach is adopted

My goodness! There is just so much venom on this thread! We should be thinking of and proffering ideas on how to move the country forward and not throwing all these insults that amount to nothing more than the mb expended just to do so!

This should have been an educational thread that reminds us of what we have and don't make use of but some here rather turn it to a mud-slinging exercise and to what end? When u say the East cannot survive on its own if Nigeria should separate I just wonder how that belief came about! What is trade for? Develop what u have, sell the excess when produced in commercial quantities and buy what u need from those who have and vice versa! That's all it takes really and not all these name-calling and feeling of superiority. It takes us nowhere. There are countries that don't have much by way of natural resources but they have all they need and in fact, we prefer to buy things from such countries eg the UK so how did they get what they have? We produce crude oil yet we face terrible shortages while they don't have crude and there's never any scarcity...isn't that a problem that affects us all?

This is the reason why sound-minded people agitate for regional system of governance if not outright separation so each region will develop at its pace with what it has and no one will call the other parasite. It is the failing of our leaders and we citizens that has brought us to this point. Rather than wallow in it like pigs in mud without any shame trying to justify the reprehensible, we should engage in serious self-retrospection and think of ingenious ways to change the current reality we face. The fact that people here keep throwing barbs at whatever tribe they deem fit or deliberately sow some untruths just to keep the embers of hate flaming hot is completely shameful! People all over the world see these things and their perception can never be any good.

Your figures are outdated. According to the 2010 (most recent figures):

Ogun state outperforms Anambra in both GDP and IGR output.

Ogun is #5 on the IGR list, and #9 on the GDP list.

Anambra is #10 on the IGR list, and #16 on the GDP list.

Anyway, a research was recently concluded by some american research group that showed that Nigerian Intelligence was highly concentrated in the Yoruba tribe. They even proved that yorubas are the smartest tribe by evaluating several sources and individuals.

Now this is why Nigerians performance in external exams like waec, jamb neco etc is dwindling. We are talking about resources from Nigerian states and you just jumped from that and started comparing intellectuality. That shows that you are just trying to argue with me about tribalism.
If I shld even take you on with the ans you gave[which is totally out of what we are discussing here] what is the use of being smart when you are nt able to use it to do anything. I remember when I gained admission into the Uni, I went to my dad's farmland which he doesn't use to do anything and planted plantain there. Some of my very good friends which are yorubas heard about it and started shouting ''Ibo man''. But nw I can take care of my schl bills with that act that I carried out, and I can tell u that those my guys do come to my lodge all the time to eat, saying that their parents haven't sent them anything, but I won't argue that they aint smart, they are, but the issue here is what do u do with the smartness. Cos a lot of young ibo guys are smart and they combine the smartness to go into a good venture that helps them live well, that is why everyone says that we like money a lot. Who does nt like money. That is why you see a lot of investment by the Ibos as a result of their smartness. So what you are saying there is just theory, but take a look at the practical aspect. But pls go back to the main topic.
