The rate at which governor Ikpeazu is trying to please the already embittered abia people has not gone unnoticed. Abia state, though blessed with huge natural resources and some of the best brains and hands in the country, has been in a political mess for a long while now, and the mess has driven many Abians into Apathy. This political mess affected the economy and appeal of the state. It also made Abia's detractors more vocal than ever. Although Abia's poverty index stands proudly at 21%, and has a high literacy rate, Abians are still not smiling. it appears these, alongside Alex Otti's legal tussle with ikpeazu, has made the present government stand on their toes, especially on the urban renewal of Aba, a major commercial centre in Nigeria. Thank God for the criticisms, it is making the present government sit up. Nairalanders, do you think the Abia Goverment will get it right this time following the criticism spanking them? NB: Pls let's be constructive in criticizing the state. thank you. |

First of all he should start by bringing construction giants into the state,.... And stop using Mother Cats  What happened to JB, CCECC, SETRACO etc,....I must commend him for what he's doing at Aba drainage 1 Like |

asha80:good question. Ikpeazu as I have observed is trying to redeem the already battered dignity usually ascribed to an abia governor, well no thanks to Theodore and his son 'ikuku', and to an extent orji uzor kalu. secondly, aba is currently undergoing a massive clean up especially in some of its major roads and drainage. he is trying to construct roads and rehabilitate some, still talking aba. its however too early to conclude that ikpeazu is working hard for abia. but I think the criticisms are making him sit up. |

SonOfEl:^^^Abia can and should be able to afford quality construction companies like JB! Ordinarily, that state should be returning nothing less than 2.5 billion per month as IGR.....so ignore those who say the states pockets aren't deep enough! It's better to spend a bit more money (even if it means borrowing in the short term) to construct roads that'll last and not crumble after one or two rainy seasons....especially for a strategic city like Aba! Quality roads will also give the city a world-class feel too....unlike cheap looking roads with uneven open gutters and lacking road furniture like street-lights, signage and traffic-lights! 1 Like |

My sister told me nothing much is happenning,the only thing they are doing is openning up gutter and leaving the dirts without packing it, will be in Aba on 19th and gonna spend up to one week. |

I think it's still too early to start praising this man. That's how they always start looking very promising when their case is still in court,only for tgem to start fumbling after winning the court case. Give whoever is the governor like 2 or 3 yrs,then we can start assessing his performance. |
