Asiwaju9ja:You couldn't have captured it better. For example, I had a discussion with a group of young adults some five years ago about state of the nation especially about electricity and corruption. While I maintained that it was possible to get out of the vices, they all argued otherwise. I used examples of nations enjoying uninterrupted power supply and negligible corruption, they still didn't believe. I had to ask for their individual age before I could understand their reasoning. They were all born into the vices! Not a single one of them believed Nigeria was way better than this. When I told them the good things Nigerians enjoyed even till early 80s, they were amazed. |

There was a brief period in 2012 when the power supply was relatively stable for about 6 weeks and I can recollect the amazement of my colleagues and I. Guess what? Prof Barth Nnaji the then minister of Power was made to resign his position (You'll wince when you think of the ministers that were still standing gidigba before and after then) for having 'interests' in some power projects. With alacrity, the power supply dipped to its usual unpalatable low levels. It's obvious the notorious cabals that held sway during the last regime had greater interests in power supply Perhaps in the area of fuel and generator supply. What this means is that the facility to provide some element of stable power supply has always existed however, the body language of our leaders made them unnecessary to function. You can build all the facilities in the world, but if there are sentiments not to use them they would be transformed into monuments. |

Dolypson04:I hate it when people have no dignity. If you believe in PMB, just say it. There's no honour in pretending your an indifferent citizen who is all of a sudden drawn towards PMB. We all known you are a strong, vibrant supporter of the APC. This writeup is beneath you. Please grow some balls and stand by what you believe in. Be a Man for God's sake |

| Re: The Changes I Have Seen Under Buhari by McKren(m): 1:34pm On Aug 16, 2015 |
mogentle:I did not know leadership and integrity can also generate electrical energy. That is a very abstract propaganda that means nothing Please give me examples of real steps Buhari took in terms of actions, policies or investment in energy facilities that have led to improved electricity You guys are very very vague. You can't even back your messiah with facts. As we speak Buhari does not have an energy policy nor an energy minister |
| Re: The Changes I Have Seen Under Buhari by Asiwaju9ja(m): 3:27pm On Aug 16, 2015 |
McKren:Even without the policy on anything things are working now. This is an adhoc measure. Even without ministers o! Abi you want make e set up committee(like GEJ) to look into why things are beginning to work without ur perceived policies and and ministers? |

biafranqueen:hello biafranqueen.A lot of power generating plants construction were paid for during the time of obj.physical construction took place under Jonah.despite the corrupt power sector sale.we had issues with power generation and distribution. Why?..buharis entrance changed the game.why?.simply because under Jonah it was profitable for the gencos and disco not to provide power.they make a lot of money for service charge and estimated billings.it was lucrative not providing power.the govt was subsidizing n.when the power or was been unbundled .we were told that competent experts with technical and financial capabilities will be brought in.what happened?. The govt ended up giving out Nigeria's money for the purchase and running of the disco's. They know under buhari they would have to sit up.tell me why they are refusing to give out prepaid meters. The fear of buhari is the beginning of wisdom. |

chrisblack:Thank you for your intelligent comment Chrisblack it is a pleasure to meet you. When you say it was illegal to sale the power company can you post the proof here, because if it was I am sure Sahara Reporters and others would have had a field day with it. The constitution is online you can post an excerpt of where it is illegal on this thread. Can you please post here where Buhari has probed the power industry and they found out that they were holding power back. Because I never read such a thing. Depending where you live such as Enugu and Anambra we have been enjoying power for long periods gradually for 2 years the system was new and they were working out the kinks. If he had not sold the power sector would you be enjoying now? When a new system is put into action does it not take time to perfect it? |
| Re: The Changes I Have Seen Under Buhari by chrisblack: 4:33pm On Aug 16, 2015 |
biafranqueen:hello I never said it was illegal to sell.I only stated that laid down procedures for selling was not properly followed.they were ask to have sound technical partners and sound financial capabilities. Tell me has mtn ever ask Nigerian government for loan or intervention? |
| Re: The Changes I Have Seen Under Buhari by biafranqueen: 4:46pm On Aug 16, 2015 |
chrisblack:thank you for asking http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/fg-unveils-new-tax-incentives-for-investors-employers/126920/ MTN saved billions from tax credit so yes to your question, they asked and received a bailout. This includes Dangote as well trillions were basically given to MTN, Dangote and others through a tax shelter. Why do you think Dangote brags of not going out of Nigeria. Why do you think 200 Chinese companies came here in 2014 only? Feel free to ask away each one teach one I am off today so I have time ![]() |

| Re: The Changes I Have Seen Under Buhari by Nobody: 5:26pm On Aug 16, 2015 |
mogentle:The body language we are waiting for is in asset declaration, that is where the true test of integrity will lie. Having said this, I will add that the blueprint on Electricity formulated by the last administration has not been updated by the new one (despite all the body language) , so until then we need to know what they will do to make sure the light we are enjoying will not quench half way. If they have no blueprint (and I strongly suspect they don't) we will endure change for another 3yrs and 9 months. |
