With the 2nd round of matches approaching us very fast, we take a look at how 2 Big Guns will perform when they come head to head on Sunday.

Chelsea have suffered after the 2-2 draw with Swansea and the breakdown between José Mourinho and first-team doctor Eva Carneiro. Whether the latter will materially affect the club is to be discovered, and following City’s fine 3-0 win at West Brom Albion, Manuel Pellegrini’s side are favourites.

However, it still would not be surprising if Mourinho leaves the Etihad Stadium with three points.

Mourinho said on Friday afternoon during his schedule press conference.

I cannot say it’s crucial, it’s decisive, or it’s very, very important, but it is two title contenders, and three points. If you can get three and your opponent zero it is important but for sure I am not going to say the game decides anything for the winner or anything for the loser.

Pellegrini also had the same idea with Mourinho but from a different view.

We are not thinking about the title in our second game, but about winning our points at home.

We're playing against champions, against one of the teams that has a chance to win the title, so to try to win the three points at home is very important.
