Hi guys,

Happy weekend to you all...

I want to share an experience I had while travelling from Jigawa state to Kano state this past Friday. I had plans of getting a bus heading to Abuja in Kano.

First of all i'm a corps member deployed to Jigawa state to serve my father land.
It hasn't been easy so far, however, I and so many other corps member decided to travel for a two week break after our state clearance.

I and 3 other corps members where fortunate enough to get a bus going to Kano, my plans was to travel to kano and then to Abuja, the others 3 corpers where travelling to Lagos. So our Destination was Kano...

On our way, the driver and his conductor without permission parked the bus and left all of us in the bus and went for Prayers. Everyone was angry, those who were yet to pay decided to follow another bus, I on the other hand have already paid with 200 naira as change which was still with the conductor, so I was stock and had to wait for them for up to 15 Min.

When the driver finally returned from the mosque, he was so angry that the other corps member had left. So he and his conductor decided that they will not give me my remaining change since I allowed the other corps members to leave, and they haven't paid yet.

I didn't understand them because they were speaking in Hausa and they didn't understand Pigeon english.

I got to understand them when I finally got to Kano and they bluntly refused to issue the change, it was a huge argument that passersby had to come, and most of them didn't understand english, the one who finally understood what I was saying said I was at fault, that since the driver went to pray and the corps members left without paying, that I should pay on behalf of the other corps members. It sounded so funny to me.

Anyway I thank God that I finally got my change from the conductor with more persuasion and no violence.

I really want Nairalanders to look into this case, if you were in my shoes what will you do?

Truely those guys who came around where of the opinion that I should pay since my fellow corpers left without paying.

You opinions please!!!

Paying for the sins of others..
Sorry about it. That's why I don't attach myself to others in a public transport weda in conversations or otherwise. He saw you all mingling as friends plus una khaki uniforms so he thought you are all from the same parents. Not his fault either.

@Bacterioni or fungarioni: stay down there, that's where you belong.

it's not just the north, almost all the states does that. Most of these things shouldn't come in as a surprise especially when you're travelling to a new place for the first time

Which bus does not collect money at the park before moving to another state? Or are you trying to tell us that you entered pick and drop from Jigawa to kano? OP I suspect lie oh

That aside, that stopping and praying ish is very annoying. Muslim drivers should stop it. I remember the first time i traveled to sokoto, we stopped almost 3 times angry

If you know Kazawre very well, you will know that most buses travelling from there to Kano don't collect at the park, they do that while on transit...
